Suriyasai-Jatuporn Meeting Infuriates Yellow Shirts

So you don't disapprove of chalerms sons suddenly being placed in high positions with no strong qualifications or impressive experience. Just one example, at one stage one of his sons (basically a fresh graduate from Ram.) was appointed to a military law advisory committee.

That's all OK is it?

I am not in a position to pass judgement. Had the person appointed been qualified, then I don't think he should be penalized. Personally, I don't think these sort of appointments are a good idea, but that is from my western perspective. What you may not understand, is that this is how it works in Thailand and has worked for centuries. I don't think they are about to change because the all knowing farang says to change.

Is your intent to go off on a tangent and provide examples of questionable appointments? If so, this thread would never end. In Patong, a stronghold of the Democrat party, the taxi mafia holds sway and the mayor is part of the taxi collective and is implicated in the jetski and beach chair activities. I think its wrong, but I cannot do much because this is how the Thais run things.

What a cop out - not in a position to make judgment, you know the details of such appointments as much as anybody. And you don't hesitate to pass judgment on lots of other things. And you don't hesitate to go off on tangents, And you don't hesiate to say all people who criticize your idol, the pt, the reds etc are just negative - if that's not a judgment then what is?.

I have lived and worrked in professinal employment in this wonderful and intriging country for several decades, and I have lectured in Thailands so called prestigious universities, I have children and grand children born here, and I do (as far as a western person will ever understand) realize how things work in this country.

On many occasions my Thai colleagues have expressed outrage at chalerm's nepotism antics and your idol's nepotism antics and more, and I'm not suggesting that it's confined to the pt, or trt party, pretty much all parties have dabbled in it, which doesn't change the fact that it's unfair and wrong in the view of many Thais let alone farang.

And though you may not like it, I will raise whatever examples I choose, never mind your comment about ..... thread would never end.
