One Of The World'S Most Dangerous Airports

Featured Replies

To be honest, I always thought Pai airstrip was dangerous. Mountain one end and large aircraft can only land and take off in one direction. When it overcast and raining, the aircraft can't land. That was a few years ago, as I have been in that situation with Thai AIr. We actually had to come back and land at the departing airport and wait in the aircraft until the weather cleared.

May Hong Son airport often used to close, due to low-cloud, 'Land of the Seven Veils' and all that !

Sensationalist journalism. Never trust a news source with grammatical errors in the title! When this first appeared it was "Most Deadliest".

But most importantly, this is the CR Forum. I didn't see the airport here on the list. There are longer threads running on several other sub-forums pointing out the folly of this article.

The Huffington Post has a curious history, started by the ex-wife of a Republican congressman it is now considered "liberal" in it's views.

I quite enjoy their articles, an occasional interesting insight into American politics.
