I lived there 7 years ago, then wised up and moved to Rawai. I rarely if ever go there now.

Wised up,wasn't someone murdered there recently.

No.

Top denial. You stick to that. No-one saw you. And if they did, it was a coincidence. They can't pin anything on you. And besides, you don't even know what night in question they mean.

Thank you!

But still, the last murder here I remember was August 2010 when the Brit Lee Aldhouse laid in wait to attack and stabbed to death an American named Longfellow at his bungalow in Ya Nui. Then ran home to his nanny state to protect him from the inhumane Thai prison. Whatever this has to do with Patong, I'm not really sure. There you just get beat up and mugged by tuk tuk drivers, katoeys and bar security staff.

Nothing to do with 'nanny state'. The UK, as with many other countries, will not extradite anyone who's charge is punishable by death in the country requesting extradition. It's not rocket science, it only requires the Thai authorities to come up with a charge for which the maximum punishment is life in prison (such as manslaughter?). To be honest, I doubt very much that the Thai authorities are particularly motivated anymore, as the offences involved 2 farangs, one of whom is dead, the other no longer in the country. Apologies for going further off topic........coffee1.gif

Wrong rocket scientist! The death penalty was dropped when the extradition was filed. So now it's that he claims Thai prisons are inhumane. Aldhouse is a nanny boy from a nanny state, period. But once again this has nothing to do with this thread. It has been discussed for almost two years... At least the coward is in prison...

Yes, off topic and not applicable, since the Thais have declared not to ask for capital punishment. The issue at the moment is what jimi indicated, are Thai prisons good enough for British murderers.

Still off topic. The issue is if anyone living in Patong wants a new friend.

To the OP - Most members living in Patong probably already have an active social life. When you get here I would suggest you find a bar, club or Gym that suits your lifestyle and personality and seek friends there.

Organised social get togethers with TV members in Phuket are very unlikely to ever happen again.

oh yeah, I used to live in Patong 8,5 years ago, still go back sometimes to meet friends or get intoxicated in a favourite bar, but more and more seldom I must admit

Op the typical life cyclus in Patong would be, within 3 months you have 50 new friends, then you get to know them more and........................

No, it was at Friendship Beach quite a few years ago now. At least 4. George was there. I went with Don Battles who owned Don's in Nai Harn. Met a few people, ate some ribs and drank a few beers. I even still have some Thaivisa beer condoms from the party. Petercallen tried to organize a get together a couple of years ago and about 5 people showed up. No one has tried or really talked about it since...

There was a party at "Ricks?" in Kata a year or so back, I believe about 11 showed up, but people were trying to sabotage it from the get go (There's some weird people on this forum).

I don't think anyone will be bothered to try again.

hosted by Rick n Roll in Kata, great BBQ, icecold beer and live bands and TV members performing. Nice evening

I didn't "not show up".

I had to pull out for reasons I won't go into, and I sent my apologies to Rick a day or so before the event at a web address he published for just such a reason.

I appreciated the effort many put in to get it going and regreted not attending.

Sorry about the use of "not show up", my bad englishwai.gif

I dunno, OP, with a photo like that as an avatar, and this topic...................................I'm calling TROLL !!!!!!!!!

Trolls need friends too.

Don't you worry, Trapflex, he's just showing off his intolerance and prejudice - for which our forum is rightfully, and proudly, famous!

Once people get to know you, I'm sure you will be made welcome, and I am sure that there are perfectly good reasons why they have stopped having the get-togethers down there. Don't take that personally.

That's why I suggested he look in a Gym for friends.

Every time I call it as I think another post dissappears!

After all the effort you put in to organize it not many turned up and some of

those wanted a free drink without buying a meal

Would you be bothered organising a similar function again

Thats a load of BS and for how many posts you have, haven't seen you on the Phuket Forum enough for you to make that conclusion.

Nope, not half of the signed up members came. I did it as a Phuket Forum mod, I am not a mod any more.

Rick n Roll did most of the job as host, had put a lot of energy and money into it (3 paid bands), and they found turnout TV members disapointing.

Anything similar would need to be with pre paid tickets

Looking at his post count not on Phuket forum, but he has been around on the other forums.

I just don't agree with his conclusion of intolerance and predjudice on this Phuket Forum. I believe the topic just opens the door for the "Phuket sucks because I've been to Patong and know it does" crowd.
