For Months Never Ending

Featured Replies

now...I live in a little town in rural Thailand and I make do with the food at the local market and at our little tescos,

for months never ending...

and, I would like to get some burgers and tacos that folks talk about that they got down in BKK but never get none,

for months never ending...

an' we ain't got no bars or nightlife to speak of but I don't complain,

for months never ending...

and the situation is not abhorrent nor is it an aberration so why do we endure?...for months never ending...

'fess up ye bastids...a lot of us live in the middle of nowhere but we love it...for months never ending...

we gots a job fer ye out here in saudi with lotsa dough...tutsi: '(gulp)...does that mean that I haveta drive again?...'

Another member suggested today I should visit Chiang Mai and Rai then Laos....

I mean....there's not even a La Monita franchise....ohmy.png

I think that some of the folks who live up in the village were persuaded to build houses up there for the (missus) family and then moved there because of the economy of it. Then there will be some who moved there because they prefer the rural lifestyle (just as they probably would in their home countries). I wonder how many farang couples live up the bush - not too many, I suspect. For me, it would be the epitome of boredom, but each to their own...

well...I useta like the bright lights of the big city, went to university in San Francisco and hob-nobbed with the best and the greatest...and then my little thai wife said: 'come with me...you won't regret it...'

and now, here I am in clown shorts, flip flops and a baseball cap tryin' to be like Moon Mullins down the market...

and now...the kids are on their school holidays and the little niece has been home to see her mom (the wife's extended family is spread all over rural south Suphanburi) and she stands before me with sadness and anger:

tutsi: 'my darling I'm going to work just like before and will be home in 3 months to see you...'

little niece: 'you are a LIAR! and if you loved me you would never leave me!...'

yessee, if we lived in Bangkok she would be so consumed by other activities that she wouldn't notice my coming and going...

months and years never ending...but I know that I am loved...before I useta haveta sneak out of the house down to the airport when she was sleeping...now, she don't take no shit...a real thai/asian woman in the making...all here, in a small rural town in Suphanburi...

and then we got:

and, shit...I'm getting a fever blister on my top lip and she will expect a kiss when she gets home...

I live about 20kms out of Chiang Rai, nice rural area.... mountains, streams and lakes.

Near enough to town for supermarkets, malls, tacos, burgers in fact enough for people to argue and fall out with each other over the quality.

I loaf around here

for months never ending

and never consider going anywhere else.

Exactly. Nobodly loves the country more than I do, but I would never LIVE there. I like my conveniences too much, and when I want to "get away" to somewhere wild for a while there is no problem doing so. It's the same whether I live in Canada or Thailand. I can have the best of both worlds.

maybe tutsi should do something about the local burger and taco situation...there is a hand cart in the garage from a previous family enterprise that has failed and maybe I should have a go...

a merc rolls up to 'tutsi's tacos' and an expensively dressed asian with RayBans emerges and inspects and sez: 'yew ain't got no corn tortillas or any suitable salsa...why would anyone want to buy this shit?...'

tutsi (with mexican sombrero and fake zapata mexican moustache): 'well sir, the wimmin folk are grinding corn at home as we speak an' I should have something suitable t'morrah...howzabout a 'tutsi tofu hotdog' in the meantime?'

ah...not a good idea for a months never ending activity...

and here's tutsi's previous american associates smirking about tutsi's Thailand countryside misadventures...

and then tutsi sez quoting from Country Joe and the Fish:

Well you know that it's a shame and a pity

You were raised up in the city

And you never learned nothing 'bout country ways,

Ah, 'bout country ways.

and then the attractive tofu lady down the market sez: 'you look pretty countryfied to me, tuts...'

now, that's what you want to hear...for months never ending...

A tofu hotdog?

Are we attempting to discuss healthy style burgers and tacos as well?

If I wanted to be healthy I could stay home and eat lettuce...

And extend my life by.....

months never ending.

Salsa, now salsa is another thing altogether, that can be healthy, but the proof of the pudding there of course is what pudding you put it on.

You could spend

months never ending

studying discussions on what's healthy and what's not.

scead...I just wanted to allude to the attractive lady tofu vendor down the local market...I'll take the goddamed tofu and dose it with nitrates to have it appeal to hot dog customers...but what to do about the buns? (the tofu lady she has nice buns, splendidly displayed in tight jeans...) maybe the whole wheat sandwich bread from lotus with lotsa mustard will do...

maybe I should just give it up and wait for the next job in saudi to come thru...but then the little niece would want to murder me for 'abandoning' her again...

life can be complicated but it shouldn't be...in rural south Suphanburi...for months never ending...

Thai buns in tight jeans....

I could let my mind rest on that thought

For months never ending.

Sceadugenga... currently in exile in Australia when the bejeaned buns can be a bit on the ordinary side.

Hopefully not for

Months never ending.
