Has anyone else noticed the change in broadcast times from Australia Network?

Generally, it has been 2 Saturday games. One shown at aroud 10.30 and then the

later one at 1730. Now they're showing a 1030 followed by a 1330. Not sure why

the change as I used to like watching the later game.

Oh well, it's a free service, guess I should be gratefulsmile.png

I have just had a look and after the byes have completed they go back to 1630 coverage on Saturdays.

Mate

The poor form of the Eagles this year has destroyed me so I think I'll

just watch you guys battle it out.

I just hope WCE don't get embarrassed this Friday night.

What do the gang here think Hodge from the Hawks will get (if anything)

for the 2 incidents on Friday night?

Regards

Will

Thanks ripstanley for the outcome there.

These things happen at such pace that it tok me quit ea few looks at the replay to form a decision. For me, it was a close call for teh contact between Hodge and Henderson. IN the end Hodge probably could have avoided that situation, so he copped the penalty.

In some way sit seems odd that the contact between hodge & Murphy (Murphy fractured cheekbone) didn't draw a charge as it had a much worse outcome, but I don't think that the action there was intended.

I guess we have all hear by now that Melbourne has sacked Mark Neeld.

This quote by the Melbourne CEO peter Jackson

"It's my responsibility as CEO to do everything we can to make sure players see a future at this football club … we need to convince them as a club that this is a place they want to be for the next 10 years of their career."

Neeld certainly could not get the players to perform. This seemed very obvious a while back.

The other side of the coin of course is that the players performances have been exceptionally poor at times. Zero effort. Surely Melbourne would have to be looking at how many of the current crop of players they would want to keep?

Being an ex-walloper Chooka, what's you gut feeling on this one?

Has there been a cover up? Nine years is a long time to charge someone is it not?

enough with the ex, not quite ex yet still on the payroll. My feeling is that there has to be something in it. There were rumours on the Police grapevine (only rumours) that a senior police officer involved in checking the original brief was connected with St Kilda. Not an investigator but a person who can authorise the prosecution. I don't know any more about the case than anyone so it is hard for me to really comment. Prosecution is very expensive and reputations of both the victim and Milne are at stake so I doubt that this has been re opened just for show or public confidence in the police.

Milne's career is over as of today and I believe the Saints will cancel his contract and delist him in the next week. Lovett was charged with rape and sacked by St Kilda (later found not guilty in court) . Will be sad to see him go as he was a great footballer but the saints have no choice as they set the precedent with Lovett.

We could see Melbourne in an upset against St Kilda this week

oh please, that is all I need at this point in my life.

tongue.png

All the ingredients are there chooka.

Melbourne sacks their coach and the players suddenly have a good second half of the year..how many times have we seen that?

St Kilda, team stunned by Milne charges, under the media spotlight, can't get it together...

30 point win to melbourne...

Saints clear Milne to play
By Michael Gleeson and Stathi Paxinos
The Age

"St Kilda’s board has provisionally cleared controversial forward Stephen Milne to play against Melbourne this Saturday, despite the 33-year-old having been charged with four counts of rape on Tuesday.

... The board met Tuesday night to discuss the charges and resolved that they would permit Milne to play, presuming Milne was mentally fit to play and was managing the stress of dealing with the charges.

The board is now awaiting the opinion of the AFL as to whether it is appropriate for Milne to take the field."
The Saints will hold a media conference at 2.30 AEST

Update on Milne:

STEPHEN Milne's playing future is in doubt after being told to take leave for an 'indefinite' period.

St Kilda president Greg Westaway said while Milne would remain a listed AFL player, the decision was made in the "best interests of all parties" and out of a duty of care to the goalsneak.

"The board has resolved that in the best interests of all parties concerned, and the duty of care the club has to Stephen and his family, Stephen will remain a listed player but will take a leave of absence from playing for an indefinite period," Westaway said in a prepared statement.

"The St Kilda Football Club respects that this matter is now before the courts. As a consequence we won't be making any further comment at this time."

I don't think it is a good image for any club. The saints have employed extra security at training sessions because other players have been taunted by a few nut cases and have to be escorted into the ground.

Will have to see what happens on July 5 at the committal, the Magistrate may or may not form the opinion that there is a reasonable possibility of a guilty finding at trial. If he doesn't think there is then Milne may be back if on the other hand we won't see Milne again.
