The US casualties are minimal. No troops have been lost in direct combat. Iranian missile launches and drone attacks have dropped off to the point that the UAE airspace has reopened. On any given day, the US suffers 1 fatality due to mishap like a vehicle crash or a fall, or a training incident. Even the recent loss of the aircraft, while tragic, was not unusual. Between late 2019 and mid-2024, the US military logged 4,820 aviation mishaps. Of these, 222 were classified as Class A incidents, accidents involving a death, permanent disability, destroyed aircraft or at least $2.5 million in damage. During this period 90 service members and Defence Department civilian employees were killed, 89 aircraft were destroyed and losses totalled $9.4 billion. The intervention has been underway for only 2 weeks..They are slowly working down their list of priority targets. It took 14 years for Assad to be removed.
