Unemployment figures due to be released soon. I wonder what the reaction will be to the U-6 rate as it nears record highs.

Makes one wonder who those people in the 14.9% of the unemployed and underemployed are going to vote for.

Wasn't it Obama himself that claimed if he couldn't fix the economy in his first term, he didn't deserve a second term?

Real' Unemployment Rate Shows Far More Jobless

The government's most widely publicized unemployment rate measures only those who are out of a job and currently looking for work. It does not count discouraged potential employees who have quit looking, nor those who are underemployed — wanting to work full-time but forced to work part-time.

For that count, the government releases a separate number called the "U-6," which provides a more complete tally of how many people really are out of work.

The numbers in some cases are startling.

Consider: Nevada's U-6 rate is 22.1 percent, up from just 7.6 percent in 2007. Economically troubled California has a 20.3 percent real rate, while Rhode Island is at 18.3 percent, more than double its 8.3 percent rate in 2007.

Just a few years ago it was the Republicans with the "brand problem". The pattern here, is that whichever party is in control has "brand problems" because THEY BOTH SUCK. They can no longer lead. They are in constant campaign mode. They no longer try to do what's best for the country. They are more concerned with making the other guy look bad (Reps with anything Obama or a few years ago with Dems cheering US failures in Iraq). The Republicans and Democrats are a just a choice of the lesser of two evils depending on your political leanings.

Most recently, "Hope & Change" was supposed to change all that but turned out to be more of the same hollow political rhetoric we've been getting and will continue to get for the unforeseeable future. It's tempting to say f*** it! and withdraw from the political process. But I think that's what politicians want. Politicians want people who pay attention to the real issues to get fed up and stop voting. Those are the people most likely to hold politicians accountable. They like the masses who get sucked into distraction issues and are easily fooled by negative campaign ads. We need less of those masses, and more of the people who are fed up - fed up but won't quit the process, but demand change to it. Of course, that would require people from opposite ends of the political spectrum working together and that'll never happen. Maybe the best course of action really is to just say f*** it! after all.

I agree that both parties suck, but still think that the country has a better chance with conservatives than liberals and that Romney has to be better than Obama.

Obama has failed miserably and the democrats keep trying to pretend that his failed policies are going to change things for the better despite all the evidence to the contrary. The blatant lies of the democrats about Romney and about the economy and the desperate attempts to pander to special interests simply to win the election even though they have not improved anything are becoming more and more obvious.

Obama is very strong on Israel. Obama and Romney would almost identical on Israel. The vast majority of Jews will be voting for Obama AGAIN and trust me most are very pro Israel.
