Instead, they targeted narrow groups, stirred up conflicts over issues aimed at that group, whether it was union pensions, racism or birth control. There was no more pretense of a national election, only a frenzied rush to polarize as many groups as possible and join them together into an acrimonious coalition, not so much for anything, as against Republicans.

Pitting demographic groups against each other is how democracy in America has been for decades now. Nothing new here. Old against the young, rich against the poor, gay against the straight, black against the white. Whatever it takes to fragment the 30% undecided votes to get to a 50.01% victory.

This is the dirtiest, sleaziest presidential campaign in my lifetime and I am not all that young.

First, can you list ANYTHING that Obama and the Democrats have done for black Americans to EARN the over 90% of the black vote they can count on every election? I do not expect you to answer because like the list of Obama's accomplishments since becoming President - no such list exists.
