I heard overstaying is 500bht/per day . Is it still the same now?what is the procedure?if today is my flight,I check in and found out I have overstay 2days. Does they just fine me and let me go onboard with my prepaid air ticket?or will they hold me for few days and I need to book for new air ticket? Pls advise me,thanks

2 days is no issue, provided you don't get picked up by the police before you get to the airport, herein lies a potential world of hurt.

Otherwise, check-in, go to the normal outgoing immigration counter who will spot your overstay, pay 1000Baht at the desk behind the counters and receive an 'overstay' stamp in your passport. Get a mild ticking off by the officer and be on your way.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Or if you're lucky, as happened to me a few years ago, they might not spot it and you may get away without the 1,000 Baht fine...
