March 24, 200322 yr Dr Patpong (and anyone else), I was wondering if you could advise me on a visa I have read about for Thai's who have given up their Thai citizenship in favour of a foreign citizenship, but wish to return to Thailand to work. I have seen this mentioned from time but can't find any information on it now (typical!) Could anyone give me the lowdown on what this visa lets you do. Do you need a work permit? Does it give you automatic permenant residency? How does one go about getting one? Any help would be useful!
March 24, 200322 yr You say that you have given up your Thai Citizen ship..in what respect? If you still have your birth certificate/I.D.card/Registration documentation and have not been excommunicated for any reason then why not just get a new Thai.passport. After that forget about Visas and workpermits
March 25, 200322 yr Author I actually have all of those things (and am dual citizen to boot!) Just am wondering about a visa I have read about somewhere. I think it is a class of non-immigrant visa rather like an non-immigrant O, A, ED, except that you have to have been a Thai citizen once to be eligible for it. So my question is, if this visa exists (and I am pretty sure it does), what are the details about it, and once you have it, do you need to get a Work permit, does it give you special rights etc etc.....
March 25, 200322 yr Apply for a Thai passport ......it is the easiest option. Carry whatever your other passport is so as to enable free travel into your adopted country.
