Dtac Unlimited 3G

Featured Replies

Just got this from the Dtac website.

Postpaid 3G unlimited for 790 Baht a month. No mention of a certain cap on the download.

Is this for real?

Edit to add : see now that this is only valid untill 30 June 2011.Why is this still onn their website today 1 may 2012?

They use the word unlimited loosely - I just topped up a 1g a month @ 450 type account. The gprs is unlimited and both the edge and higher 3g are counted in the 1g data limits.

Last month I hit 1g with edge for the first time - we have only edge here and no 3g speeds and got the sms message about being slowed down to gprs for remaining time of the month with an option to pay for more data - I still have to wait til Friday before the new 1g of 3G/Edge kicks back in with the normal monthly account. I have been stuck @ 50k for a week now.

I think @ around 800 Baht you can currently get 3gig for data before gprs starts but you can bump more data during a month for an extra fee.

I just pay a flat amount per month and live with it - I also buy two months at a time and save more so it is 900baht for two months each having 1g limit - but during that time I get 215k of edge vary solid.

I know edge is rated 384k but they have it tuned down in most areas and you can find that fact in the fine print.

Still it beats IpStar which often ran 50k speeds during the week days anyway @ 2400Baht a month, so it works as good as that for 2000 a month less.

Thanks, but I would be more interestred in the post paid packages, however all the packages posted on their website have expired already.

Anyone experience with Dtac postpaid or maybe a link to their current packages.

Same Same.

Not sure why you want a post-paid plan?

Because the link I posted in the OP showed really favourable rates compared to the pre paid packages, unfortunately the all seemed to be outdated.

Well they've expired, they're no longer available, you can't get them anymore, that dog no longer hunts. Not sure how many ways to explain the obvious?

Maybe you could just share what your requirements are, then we can point you in the right direction?

I have no requirements other then that I want the most data for the least money paid.

I'm now on True Adsl and a heavy user,I move today to my new house where there is no Telephone or Adsl available.

I know I can get the signal from True,Ais and Dtac at my home, but don't know how to check if TOT is available. The sim I would require needs only to be data.

I suspect you will find it challenging to replace DSL with mobile broadband; I know I couldn't as I download (FTP from local seedbox) ~ 500 GB per month on my DSL line.

Maybe experiment with CAT, TOT and TrueMove H?

True move H is available,as well as AIS and Dtac, all at reasonable connection rates.I see in another post of yours that TOT is the only one that has an unlimited download at 790 Baht. How do I check if TOT is available at my house.

Thai communications/TV services web sites (and printed material) are notorious for not being kept up to date and where it says a promotion runs through date XYZ (a date gone by) there is a good chance the promotion is actually still active/available. Maybe it's because the service provider don't want to PO people who rushed to sign-up before the expiration date identified in the promotion only to find out the plan is still available after the advertised expiration date...this can make people feel like they were fooled/rushed into buying the advertised service/product....but hey, I don't think many Thai companies have a problem in making people feel like that. If the promotion is still being shown on their web site (regardless of expiration date) it's best to check with service provider to see if the promotion is still active/available or not.
