Report Pattaya Police's Heroic Bike Push Thrills Stranded Tourists
Picture courtesy of Pattaya Mail Two Russian tourists in Pattaya found an unexpected saviour in the form of local police officers, who used their boots to push a broken-down bike through bustling traffic. The tourists' motorbike's battery died around 9.40am on July 16, leaving them stranded on Sukhumvit Road. Due to a language barrier and the intense heat, the tourists had no way to call for help, and their hope was rapidly diminishing. Luckily, a patrol from Na Jomtien Police Station drove by. Police Lieutenant Thanyawisit Saengpho and Sergeant Major Yuranan Prasertsang stepped in without hesitation, whisking the tourists to safety with refreshing relief in the station’s pickup truck. But with no tow truck handy, they had to get creative. One officer mounted the motionless scooter while a colleague on a patrol bike pushed it with his foot, navigating the crowded road meter by meter. The sight of the officers' foot-powered convoy quickly garnered attention. Drivers honked and pedestrians applauded, with many capturing the moment on their phones, which resulted in viral online praise and admiration for the officers' ingenuity and kindness. “Helping people is our mission from the heart,” an officer remarked. “The smiles we receive? That's the best reward.” This uplifting incident has shone a light on Pattaya's compassionate side, reminding residents and tourists alike of the city's unexpected moments of humanity. Crime 55 Illegal Foreign Workers Detained at Chinese Construction Site in Sriracha
Agreed but it is not often in these kind of releases that they report this so a step in the right direction - One has to wonder if it is because the employer was also foreign (perhaps Chinese?)
