Has anyone ever asked the Thai person responsible why the VIP bus, Central, Movies, etc. are kept sooo cool/cold? It has got to cost them money. The only thing I can come up with is that Thais associate AC cool with luxury so real cool/cold is luxury mak mak. Any other theories?

On the occasion I have had to visit BKK I've noticed the folks wearing full suits and other garments generally more suited to the arctic circle. One would think that in a tropical country that would count as lunacy, but apparantly they've perfected the skill of running from an artificial iglu to another without breaking a sweat.

Alas the rest of the country seems to follow that standard, even when the attires get more appropriate for the climate. I've once been nearing hypothermia in a Vigo back at Isaan wearing my sarong, until I had the brains to get on the back of the pickup to enjoy the open air.

Probably also has some relevance with the skin color fad bordering on necrophilia in here.

I've had the same thoughts too, although I was once on an Aircon Sleeper Train when the Aircon wasn't working, It was hell. managed to wake one of the staff but he couldn't see what the fuss was about in his near comatose state. let sleeping Dogs lie or is it lay. Been in Big C when the Aircons been a bit too hot too, again no fun.

I've heard most of your heat is lost through your head , so I'd suggest carrying a Wooly Hat or maybe a Balaclava for Emergencies smile.png
