You could have a look at : http://www.phuketpalace.com/en/main-en.htm it's a great place to stay, friendly staff, very large rooms and have a look at the pool.

PS hotel, CN hotel, also there is an interesting hotel at the end of soi sunset(corner with TaiPan) which features an indoor pool with a bar.(I forget the name of it though)

Montana hotel and the dozen or more guesthouses in the neighborhood are descent. Maybe even "hip" too!
