Work Permit Expiring Before Non-Imm. B Visa?

Featured Replies

My work permit is scheduled to expire at the end of this month but my visa doesn't expire until the end of June.

I am looking at the following scenarios as to how to proceed with renewing both.

1. Wait and renew my work permit when I renew my visa in mid-June. What possible repercussions could I face working without a permit for approx. three weeks?

2. Can I renew my work permit now and if so how does that effect my visa renewal next month?

3. Just renew both now and waste the month + of time currently on my Visa.

Of the three # 3 is obviously the most logical stand point from a legal perspective but I am trying to not renew the visa now so I don't waste the days currently left on it.

Thanks for your your input.

Visa is not tied to work permit anymore that I am aware of so get a new work permit now and then you can get a visa when it is due.

1. Jail, deportation and blacklist.

2. You can renew now and actually you must have a valid WP to get your extension or if you go for visa you must have at least 8 months left on WP to get 1 year multiple entry visa.

3. WP is renewed at labor office and not at immigrations unless you are BOI it does not make any sense.
