Buying Nikon Lens In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi, I plan to buy a Nikon lens when I'll be back in Bangkok in 2 days (I'm in Chiang Rai).

I plan to buy the Nikon Nikkor 70-300 Zoom. Where to go in BKK to get the best price? Anything below 19-20 000 would be great.

Thanks

I suggest Fotofile, ground and third floor at MBK, the most professional, IMHO

FORTUNE TOWER, just above the Rama 9 MRT station has just opened a newly renovated area with 4 or 5 pro-level camera stores. From the entrance nearest the MRT, take the escalator behind the coffee shop to the 2nd level (possibly 3rd.) and walk down the hallway. They will be very close and obvious,

worth checking out the price in singapore (best price will be at Parisilk, who will quote u their price over the phone or online), bearing in mind u'll get back GST of 7% (5% after deductions). It may save u enough to justify the cost of the flight, particularly if u have other stuff u need to buy......

The most professional camera shop in Bangkok is AV Camera, http://www.avcamera.com/

The best of the cheap ones is Capa at Fortune Tower (grey imports), http://www.capa.co.th

Fotofile at MBK, first floor is also very good, http://www.fotofile.net/ , but crowded and more expensive as well. Great for second hand gear though.

Hong Kong is often cheaper, but it's a hassle compared to Bangkok, and not all the shops there are cheap.

FOTOFILE has opened a new branch at the new mall opposite Fortune Tower. Fotofile is on the lower level that has a direct entrance from the Rama-9 MRT.
