Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
Trump has made it quite plain he will be clearing out the entire judicial system - Department of Justice, FBI etc. His past includes attempting to suborn votes in Georgia, putting up fake electors, and inciting an insurrection. He has appointed judges in multiple courts to follow his lead. It's a pattern in history - Franco, Hitler and Lenin. Seizing power with a minority, then consolidating it with the legal system. He's already got the cult of personality entrenched. -

The facts are TIT. Apply again, at a different office, with a different staff member, at a different time, and you probably will be issued a TIN. So who is right and who is wrong? The office that didn't issue the TIN, or the office that did issue the TIN? This is typical of your posting style. You read ONE post from ONE member and declare it as FACT and nationwide all across Thailand. You don't get it because you don't want to consider it because it's disrupts your financial affairs. Get used to it. The tax net is being cast wder and tigher across the world. What about "interest" earned from bank accounts? They are investments, are they not? We all earn some interest here, no matter how big or small. Add renting out a property as well. Is any of this "work" in Thailand?" No, but income is being generated in Thailand, is it not? Sure, go in December and the result may be different. Go after the 1st January 2025 at extension time and the result may be different. TIT. It's too early to declare a TIN is not needed, and let's just say it is not needed at this point, what guarantee can you give a TIN will not be needed in the near future. Go on the record. We know the answer, it's ZERO guarantee. They change like the wind here, but you live in the moment. You really need to be more dynamic in your thinking in relation to Thai governance. Jeez, for all we know, there could be another coup next week. Why is it "HUGE?" Many countries are getting onboard. Once again, more wishful thinking from you overriding the reality. Do you deny Australia is updating and expanding its DTA? I posted the link for you, more than once. Go on the record. Are they, or not? As for my username, I think "Ego" in your username is quite humorous. This tax seems to be a blow to your financial "Ego" thus, you are constantly looking for why and how it can not happen, even while it's actually happening. -

In a nutshell - find a copy of "Project 2025" and READ it. Don't just listen to others' opinions. Many of his former staff helped write it, and the forward was written by his VP pick J.D. Vance. 45 has denied any association with it. You HAVE to know he is the most prolific, blatant liar ever to be involved in politics at this level. If that doesn't convince you then you don't want to be convinced, you just want to deny, ignore, lie, deflect or obfuscate the truth. Up to you. -

passport required for domestic flights? I have a Thai DL
Any hotel in Pattaya or Bangkok has been ok with either me showing my Thai ID or a copy of the front page of my passport which I keep in my wallet. Apparently this is sufficient for the TM30 report they make to the Thai immigration website. My Thai ID has my passport number on it which is what is most important. The TM30 immigration website does not require a scan of the passport. -

Technology is not to the stage where society can easily tell which people are susceptible to the virus and those that have strong immune systems, everyone is different. Clearly, if I had worn a mask during my weekend in Bangkok in June, I would not have caught covid and now be ill. You on the other hand may be of a disposition whereby your immune system can easily withstand a covid onslaught, minbe can't. As a blanket rule, wearing a mask is a good protection because it helps some of us, if it's overkill for others, should you really be complaining! If you think it is overkill, just ignore the rule quiently, comfortable in the knowledge that the rule is helping save some lives, even if it isn't impacting yours. -

passport required for domestic flights? I have a Thai DL
I sent them a note and they got back to me saying I'd leave with a valid passport. So the embassy itself confirmed this. Whether it will my punched passport or some kind of temporary document I don't know but according to them I'll be leaving with a valid passport. They will then email me when my passport has arrived and I can visit again and pick it up. -
