So you think the Syrian civil war is about peak oil? That is an interesting concept. Please explain further.

If you play Chess, you would know that not all moves are what they seem.

Some are misdirection, other are a set up, and others are investments with hopes of future returns. But rest assured all are for one, and one only reason, to take your King.

What do you think is King in this Chess game?

Do you Think it is democracy, or do you think it is something else?

Like I said. I have no answers only questions.

PS: asking people to reveal their true identity in open forum, is also against the rules.

A tad concerned about Syria sucking up to their buddies in Iran. The "pot" that is the Middle East has just been stirred yet again

and who is the chef?

We await your answer.

I don't think the Iran ally is going to work out this time. As for who are the shit stirrers I vote Isarael and Saudi Arabia as being the two most dangerous countries in the Middle East. Both with the sanction of the US government.

Oh sure. They have quite a track record of threatening to completely destroy other countries that have not threatened them. rolleyes.gif

That is becoming very obvious.

are you familiar with the Socratic method?

I second that.

do I hear a third?

For all those with an interest in Syria's neighbour to the SW and the region in general, I heartily recommend a read of Simon Sebag-Montefiore's "Jerusalem- an autobiography".

While he is a member of a very distinguished Anglo-Jewish family this book is one of the fairest and most balanced studies of this fulcrum of history and addresses some of the misconceptions highlighted on this thread.

A thorough read for a complex issue. Altogether an amazing book.

First I will say that anything I tell you that contradicts what you already believe, (and when I say you I don.t mean you personally, it can be anyone it can be me) you will have a hard time eccepting, because you have too much ego invested in your belief.

It is a natural human response.

The best way to make a point is to do it in such a way , so that you claim ownership to the answer.

So the question is,

do you think there was anything significant that happened in the Middle East in the past 100 years that was not Directly or indirectly involved with oil?

After the past support, and in many countries , the continuing support of Despots, do you think that the US has suddenly seen the light and is now supporting democracy in the region?

I am reminded of Henry Ford and the model T car, when he said "you can have any color car you want, as long as the color you want is black!" What do you think will happen , if any of the regional emerging democracies choose a democracy that is contrary to the interest of the US?

How do you think these movements are funded?

What do you think is the ultimate goal?

do you think there was anything significant that happened in the Middle East in the past 100 years that was not Directly or indirectly involved with oil?

Of course. The founding of Israel for a start. It had nothing to do with oil.

“Let me tell you something that we Israelis have against Moses. He took us 40 years through the desert in order to bring us to the one spot in the Middle East that has no oil!"

-Golda Meir

you got me

you are way too bright for me

I have nothing against protecting our interests where oil in concerned. Petroleum is used in hundreds if not thousands of products not only for making gasoline for evil, planet-killing cars and trucks. If all those who whine about "war for oil!" had to go without anything made from petroleum for one week they'd support going to war in no time.

Here's an angle I haven't heard mentioned on these threads...

With Egypt, Syria and other Middle Eastern dictatorships falling - where are we (the USA) going to send our terrorist captives for a good beating? Even Assad had been willing in the past has been willing to help out in that regard.

and Moses asked "<deleted>?! them Ayrabs get all the oil and we are supposed to cut the tip of our peckers?" w00t.gif

You should have,

Oil helped fuel the industrial revolution, and was good for it's time, but it's time is gone.

But once the investment was made, we got locked in to it, to the exclusion of better options.

Now we are not going to war to protect our national interests

we are going to war to protect profits

You know don't do that kind of thing.rolleyes.gif

But if we did, I am sure there is no shortage of subcontractors our there.

I dont know much about these things,

But I wonder? what the Rothschild's, involvement was in the Oil industry, and in the creation of Israel?

PS: I wonder who Marcus Samuel was?

Yes I have noticed that.

There were more Jews than Arabs living in Jerusalem before Marcus Samuel was even born and before the Rothschilds had donated even one cent to what would become Israel. So much for that.

The conspiracy theory websites say that Hitler was a Rothschild and that WW2 and the holocaust was all a big conspiracy to get the Jews to move to Israel so that the Rothschilds could control oil in the Middle East. Is that what you are getting at? tinfoilhatsmile.gif

Do yourself a favour and download Sebag Montefior's book on Jerusalem to give yourself an even handed background knowledge to Jerusalem and the creation of Israel.

Ulysses, you should have a read to understand the origin of Palestinians and the fact that there has always been an indigenous population in what hopefully one day will be the 2 nations of Israel & Palestine.

The Rothschilds both Brit & French were financiers not oil magnates.

I have read a number of history books on the subject, but I will definitely add that one to the list. thumbsup.gif

I thought they wanted them to move to Israel so that they would be anywhere but Europe.

Actually they wanted to commit genocide, but why bother with actual facts? Conspiracy theories tend to ignore them.

@lannarebirth. FYI believe or not, the Nazis had originally planned to ship the European Jews to Madagascar
