Laundry Services On Sukhumvit?

Featured Replies

What are the options here? I find laundromat prices a little steep here as they don't make deals ie: 500 baht for 80 pieces.

6.25 baht per piece = 0.20 cent

I think she is making a valid point. Many 'captive audience' laundry services, i.e., inside condo complexes, want to be paid 5-600 baht upfront for a fixed number of pieces of clothing. The usual shenanigans are mis-counts, no refund for unused services, etc. No big financial deal maybe, but why shouldn't she have a choice?

More and more, there are coin-op laundries in various neighborhoods, so self-service is possible.

Sukhumvit Rd., however, offers tourist-friendly laundry - for a price, which will far exceed any loss associated with the pay-up-front services. Smaller, more Thai-oriented areas offer the most choice: there are many laundries who do it by the kilo, or by the piece. You may need Thai language skills to get the service you want, however.

It's been a while, but when I was traveling back and forth, I used a place on Sukhumvit Soi 8, first block, on the right hand side as you enter the soi. It has an internet cafe attached, and the woman who does the laundry is very good. They may be expensive by Thai standards, but their work is impeccable, and I believe they have 4hr turnaround.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and Fobuff, you may want to check either your math or your punctuation: 6.25 baht =~ $0.20 or 20 cents, NOT 0.20 cents.
