At least 2 witneses testified that Zimmerman's nose was broken including an EMT who was on the scene and said that Zimmerman's nose was "very swollen", on both sides and bleeding, and that he had a laceration on the nose as well as swelling of other places on his face. The left-wing blogs are trying to claim it was not broken because there were no X rays done, despite expert testimony and photos that strongly suggest otherwise.

I have on several occasions been hit hard on the nose, either by shoulder or head. My nose has bled profusely on each occasion, swollen up for 24 hours or more, but the septum and bone formations have not broken. It is rather knocked to one side, but that was my own stupid fault for running into a brick wall when I was about eight.

Best not to pursue that bit any further, it is damn painful when it happens, but as most of my knocks came while playing rugby, I can testify that it is possible to continue with one's activities after a brief wipe-up and a cold sponge down the back.

i wonder how tense the situation is in Sanford with it's rather high percentage of African-American citizens.

The NAACP is advocating that the Department of Justice launch a denial of civil rights case (the victim's life) against the killer Zimmerman. I fully support that.

There will be no riots.

So the guy was found not guilty of murder.

I assume from all your posts on this subject he has been found not guilty of manslaughter as well.

So you are now advocating that he be tried again on another head for the same incident.

If he is found not guilty on that charge will you advocate that he is charged for littering, as he didn't tidy up the body afterwards?

He can't legally be charged in Florida for murder or manslaughter as that would be double jeopardy. But he can face DOJ civil rights charges and of course civil suits. He's not a rich man but he will be so I expect civil suits as well in future to take away any wealth he gains from his act of unpunished murder.

Yes, that will fix it, all we need is Holder and Obama running their mouths again.

This happened to be an incident where a white/Hispanic person was involved. But if the black community is concerned about black kids getting killed, they need to look at their own culture, Chicago for example. But, it's much easier to keep claiming it's the white man holding them down and let Jesse and Sharpton portray them as victims.

OK, I'm over this.

The jury simply followed the law, as much that offends you.

The irony of all of this is that if every fact about the Zimmerman case were the exact same, with the exception that IF he had been wearing a badge, no on would have ever heard of this case. The police in the US kill unarmed assailants every day.

If a person, regardless of race, is stupid enough to jump out from behind a bush and attack a person with malice and intent, they deserve to be put down like a rabid dog.

The real culprits in this case are the media and the black community. They have incited the black community and spun flights of fancy in the media to keep people riled up. The racism is this case is sickening and I'm not talking about white on black racism. Nancy Grace is famous for this and is a disgrace. Zimmerman's attorney made a point of this in the post verdict news conference.

I thought that you said that you would accept the juries verdict. Well so much for that. rolleyes.gif

The NAACP will lose. Zimmerman did nothing against Martin's civil rights and every attorney I have heard - on both sides - admits this. There is NO evidence that he was a racist and plenty that he is not.

If Travon's parents try to sue him, when they lose - and they will - they will have to pay all his legal fees as well as their own. That will not be cheap. As Don West said, the percecution prosecution of Zimmerman was a disgrace.

Zimmerman has very good chance at winning a case for malicious prosecution. The prosecution withheld evidence about Trayvon's criminal activities and the defence only found out about it because of a whistle blower who was fired for turning it over.

A disturbance has been reported in Oakland already. So much for all your predictions.

As usual the prosecution subverts the very laws they are supposed to protect in order to gain a decision in their favor. More malfeasance of government under the DOJ.

And yet another whistle blower pays the price.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/13/justice/zimmerman-it-firing/index.html

Sanford, Florida (CNN) -- An employee of the Florida State Attorney's Office who testified that prosecutors withheld evidence from George Zimmerman's defense team has been fired.

Ben Kruidbos had been on paid administrative leave since May 28 from his job as director of information technology for the State Attorney's Office.

For the DOJ to get involved I believe they need to prove that race was the motivating factor. There is not really any evidence of that. It appeared to be at first because the police tapes were doctored by the press. Zimmerman only mentioned that TM was black when asked about his race by the police telephone operator.

The verdict is not really a surprise. The real issue people have is with firearms. They just don't realize it. They go "Well TM was walking home now he is dead so GZ is a bad man and should go to jail. He shouldn't be following TM around. Etc"... but Americans are allowed to carry guns and following someone around in public is not a crime. Therefore, following someone around with a legally owned and registered gun is not a crime. This is scary as hell for people so maybe they should petition against the 2nd amendment. Maybe people want it to be illegal to have a gun outside of one's home or hunting range? Or just no guns?

No idea why President Obama decided to get involved. The State of Florida knew this case was not winnable. They only brought charges to appease the masses.

This situation sucks but that is what guns are made for, to kill. As a society, the real issue in this case is the role of firearms. Trying to have it both ways: "Firearms are OK but using them when someone attacks you is not" is not possible. Everything must exist inside a legal framework.

I said I'd accept the verdict.

I never said that would make me think he wasn't guilty of at least manslaughter. I always will but the chance of a conviction for that is gone.

Now if something else can be tried to bring justice for the murdered boy, of course, I support it.

I wouldn't worry about cost risks for the family. They have plenty of support from a large portion of the public.

So It has been proven that GZ acted within the law yet the liberal sheep will not rest until his and his family are ruined. Shame on Sharpten, the new black panthers and Obama.

People are upset but because it is ridiculous that some wannabe cop is going around with a gun and getting his ass kicked for being annoying and then killing people when they kick his annoying ass. But, under the law, he did not do anything illegal as disturbing and annoying as the situation is.

As I mentioned, I never followed this case because it seemed like a local affair to me. In reading the news today it seems that Obama and the Justice Department involved themselves in this local case as protest organizers and power brokers, and that, substantially is the reason this case was ever brought to trial at all. That is shameful! One expects that kind of behavior from hate mongers like Sharpton and Jackson, who earn their substantial livings by heating up and cooling down "the steam", as Tom Wolfe says in Bonfire Of The Vanities, but it is wholly outside the purview of a presidential administration. It is shameful politicking at its worst.

A couple of observations :

I understand that this happened in a 'gated-community'. Is this the same thing as the compounds I was used to living in, in the Middle East? I.e. a group of hoses and roads surrounded by a wall or fence (or hedge) with barriered entrances? If so, was Trayvon Martin a resident? If not a resident, <deleted> was he doing there?

Secondly, I watched the aftermath of the trial, when the Zimmerman shook hands with his lawyers and also some shots of him explaining how the fight started. In all these photos the Zimmerman was not using his right hand. It was always in a half-fist (fingers curled slightly). So has he an impediment or injury? Was this a reason for panic when attacked? I don't know, and maybe I'm imagining things.

He was a legitimate visitor of his FAMILY, there totally legally. USA private housing communities "gating" varies widely, often non-existent.

The Dept. of Justice case will go nowhere - and shouldn't be considered (same as the prosecution of Zimmerman should never have been filed). However, Holder is part of the Obama anti-Constitution regime so who knows?

Florida State's Attorney Angela Corey had no evidence to pursue Zimmerman, and failed to turn over evidence to his attorneys in violation of the law. In fact she fired her office's information technology director for basically blowing the whistle.

Perhaps she's seeking a spot in the outlaw Obama regime. She'd fit right in.

I guess visitors to one's 'FAMILY' in the subject community are, according to JT, allowed to physically assault the 'white hispanic' (CNN's description, not mine) residents. Makes sense. Next! whistling.gif

Well, this topic is back in Bedlam.

Oh well.

Interesting news about it.

One of the jurors who helped Zimmerman get away with murder says explicitly he got away with murder.

Because she felt her hands were tied.

I understand completely from my experience on a jury:

But her feelings about Zimmerman's actions are clear. "George Zimmerman got away with murder, but you can't get away from God. And at the end of the day, he's going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with," Maddy said. "[but] the law couldn't prove it."

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2013/07/25/juror_b29_mandy_zimmerman_juror_tells_abc_that_george_zimmerman_got_away.html

Maddy said "he got away with murder" and that Zimmerman is guilty. But when asked if this case should have ever gone to trial she said she didn't think so, that there was no evidence and that it had nothing to do with race. At least she got the second part right.

Behavior is the word that I fail to here or see in any dialog from the TM crew. They even went as far as putting a hoodie on Martin Luther King to which his family said He would NEVER have worn a hoodie. Behavior not colour is the reason stand your ground laws are popular. TM behaved like a gangster and died for it just like many of his peers.

Interesting. An article in a liberal publication claiming that the juror "Maddy" was misquoted. He comments were edited out of context.

Did George Zimmerman Get Away With Murder? The media are reporting that a juror says Zimmerman is guilty of murder. That’s not true.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/frame_game/2013/07/did_george_zimmerman_get_away_with_murder_no_juror_b29_is_being_framed.html

When the headline hit the air waves it really made me wonder why major networks continue to stoke the fires and won't accept the truth much the same as they ignore Obamas failings.

Looks like the divorce is getting messy...

George Zimmerman briefly taken into custody after domestic dispute

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder two months ago in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, was questioned today by police after his estranged wife called 911 saying he threatened her with a gun.
"He's in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun and keeps saying step closer ... and he's gonna shoot us," a breathless and clearly scared Shellie Zimmerman told the police emergency operator, according to the 911 call released by police.
"He's just threatening all of us with his firearm," she added.
Shellie Zimmerman, who filed for divorce last week, also said her husband had punched her father in the nose and smashed her iPad.
"I don't know what he's capable of. I'm really, really scared," she told the 911 operator.
Really? You don't know what he is capable of?

His wife claims that he threatened her and her father with a gun and punched her father in the nose and left a mark. The police say that neither one of them had any sign of violence - no mark - and that Zimmerman did not have his gun out of its holster when they arrived. His wife later changed her story and said that she had never seen a gun.

Zimmerman says that she was the aggressor and no charges were filed against him. This just sounds like a fairly common marital spat to me, but the fact that George Zimmerman seems to be a complete f**kup is hard to dispute.

She seems like real drama queen who is digging for gold between the tears

Agreed, given her propensity for lying...

Shellie Zimmerman has also had trouble with the law. On Aug. 28, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor perjury and was sentenced to one year of probation. She had been accused of lying about the couple's financial situation when she testified at George Zimmerman's bond hearing in June 2012.

Did she testify in her husband's trial? wink.png

Until Georgie Z. puts another notch in his gun, he should be left alone.

Not exactly surprising news...other than he hasn't killed anyone else, yet, and he's already whuppin' on his GF. Classy guy, let's see how he does in jail. Time for him to either become full on Mexican, or Aryan.

And no, there is no truth to the rumor that Mr. Zimmerman tried to talk his wife into dressing as Aunt Jemima for Halloween, in hopes of feeling "threatened" by her when she returned home. ;)

George Zimmerman arrested, accused of pointing shotgun at girlfriend

George Zimmerman was arrested on domestic violence charges Monday after pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, breaking a table and pushing her out of her Seminole County home, deputies said. Zimmerman is being held without bail at the Seminole County Jail, charged with aggravated assault with a weapon — a felony — domestic violence battery and criminal mischief.
Deputies received a call from 27-year-old Samantha Scheibe around 12:30 p.m. Monday and when they responded to the home three minutes later, Zimmerman was there and was not armed.
