Lite Beer Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 KMC LOAN Supreme Court to try Thaksin The Nation BANGKOK: -- The Supreme Court's Criminal Division agreed to the trial of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and 27 accomplices, implicated in Krungthai Bank's fradulent lending to Krisda Mahanakorn Group (KMC). Defendants are summoned for the first testimony on October 11. Aside from Thaksin, the other defendants included Viroj Nualkhair, former president of Krungthai Bank, and executives of KMC Group. They were charged of violating the Criminal Code’s Article 157, Commercial Banking Act BE2505, the Securities and Exchange Act BE2535 and the Public Company Act BE2535. The state prosecutors viewed that when these persons were in power, Krungthai Bank approved loans to KMC Group despite the group’s poor financial position. It loaned Bt500 million to RK Professional Co Ltd and Bt9.9 billion to Golden Technology Industrial Park Co Ltd. The prosecutors viewed that the persons conspired or supported the fraudulent practice at the state-owned bank, to benefit KMC Group and themselves. Is the Supreme Court - Criminal Section a Judge only court or Judge and Jury Court? As a common sating goes ... "It's a brave and bold more to Trail Him" Which I am sure that it is what The Nation meant with it's Headline ... At least Sondhi is. (though Sondhi is just as big a <deleted> as Thaksin) As far as i'm aware Thailand does not have a jury system. He can be found guilty in all of them and then the PTP can push for an amnesty. Right actually having the will to charge him with a crime MUST be politically motivated. Because other wise it would be politically motivated to let him get away with it. 'Politically motivated': It is the only catch phrase he has to even attempt getting the world stage to believe he is a poor persecuted man post coup, and not removed because he was demonstrably more corrupt ongoing, and had suborned the wheels of justice more than any other before him. Well even having been on the run for 8 years for a 2 year term Thaksin is still leading his young and strapping terrorists oh sorry ummmm people. The average Thai, no matter the shirt color, are great people who basically let you do what you want as long as it is legal. In Sondhi's case I believe he did. In thaksin's case I believe they let the company go bust and the 9.9 Billion was 'gone". Very different case in my opinion. Correct me if I am wrong.
