Medical Required For Extending Wp

The blood test takes about 10 mins. Not a big deal.

The current requirement is blood test - the old requirement was third stage where a visual exam could be used. Your doctor was acting on the old medical requirements form.

Interestingly, the standard medical certificate form of this particular hospital makes specific reference to 'signs and symptoms of tertiary stage of syphilis' so under this, the Doctor acted appropriately It would seem the form is outdated if what you say is correct. Unsurprisingly, the form was not checked or scrutinised when submitted.

i had the checkup at Phayathai 1 hospital for 520 bath. Nothing was there so i am clean..free mind and clear of worries. Today morning my guys went to extend my WP and got 2 years extended. Valid until 22nd August 2014. so until then no fear of blood checkup :D

by the way i have 1 year NON - O multi entry visa but i got 2 years extended for the WP. :o

Work permits validity period have nothing to do with visas anymore. You must have a non immigrant visa to receive or actually work.

I just went for my second work permit medical today at bumrungrad and again just like 2 years ago the doc just examined me and ticked the boxes. There was no drawing of blood and I questioned the doc about this and he said tertiary syphillis does not need a blood test to confirm.

Will this form be accepted again like 2 years ago?

It was the same generic bumrungrad form as 2 years ago

The wp form mario posted in post 23 also just requires that the applicant doesn't have tertiary syphillis. It doesn't mention blood tests. Does anyone have a link to this new medical form that mentions blood tests?

Twelve months ago I changed employer, for last 4 or 5 years with old employer the renewal application had to include:

- Certifictate from doctor

- Path. lab report which indicated the name, address, and registration number of the lab, and a report of findings from the blood test.

New employer not familiar with WP application forms etc etc. Manger instructed the HR manager to get familiar because several non-thai employees were now in the company strategy.

She confirmed what I said above, with WP staff at Din Daeng being very specific about the lab report document format.

For folks who live in Bkk, especially city or Phaya Thai area, try this clinic.

Walk past Pantip Plaza on Phetbhaburi Road, approaching from the Indonesian Embassy direction, continue walking another 100 metres approx past Pantip, then turn right into a small dead end soi. Walk in about 20 metres or less and on the left side you will see a doctors clinic with big glass panels at the front of the double townhouse.

Receptionist speaks little English but always tries to be helpful, just say "Doctor certificate for Work Permit", she will understand.

You'll be in the doctors room within a few minutes, the Thai doctor speaks excellent English and is very friendly and approachable.

Go by about 10.00 in the morning and the official lab report will be there at the clinic by about 4.00 - 4.30 the next afternoon.

The last time I used this service was about 12 months ago, 200Baht total (Dr. Cert., & Lab report)

Take your passport, the doctor will ask to see it and he will copy name etc., from the passport.

Very painless.

why take so long time.. all the clinics i tried gave me report in 40 minutes. even in Phayathai hospital.

Well i went back to the bum doc and said the consensus is i need a blood test. He disagreed but ordered it anyway. I now have a second sheet and all it says is VDRL non reactive. Will noi/Lek in the wp office be able to decipher this as a negative blood test result for syphillis? And will they accept the bumrungrad generic form that doesn't even mention elephantiasis but mentions filariasis which according to google r the same thing.
