Pusherman - Curtis Mayfield 1972 (Classic)

That is the 70's for you.

I lived through it.

And I am Fing glad I did.

Sure I would go back to the early 60's in a Fng Flash!

Those were the days when the USA was Great!

We could do anything.

Land on the Moon? No Problem.

These days, No Americans want to do Nothing!

Totally Spaced out on Fantasy in America these days.

Totally useless. ASIA is where its at?

This really is a HONEY at the Bitter End!

Sorry to repeat it but I was afraid you might miss this other rendition.

Mayfield is kind of a Smart Guy, too.

So many years have gone by since 1972.

Those were the days.

I can still smell my first girl on my fingers about 4 years before this live recording.

It is a beauty. She was a beauty.

I wish I could go back just one time to sit in the audience.

Woe is Me!

Did I ever tell you the story of my driving into the Darkest of the Bronx areas cruising around just seeing if I could find a girl waiting for me?

I got a flat in my new car.

3:30 AM and mostly empty lots.

3 brothers on the corner just standing.

Long Live the Bronx!

"There will be no more Uncle Tom"

So says Uncle Cutis.

Yes, KevJohn,

Thank you for the Like

Not for me, I know.

Just for this recording at the Bitter End where Curtis Performed.

16 minutes in length all live from 1972 I think.

A real Gem!

Now where is Otis?

(Sorry I meant Me Ole Bamboo)

Marvin and New York, make me wanna hollar.

Bad breaks Set Backs, Can't Pay Taxes?

But for anyone who has never walked around in NYC

Back then when New York was GRITTY and Bad,

You can get sort of a taste of it with this.

Better than the French Connection even

Just about Serpico, too.

I was born at the right time and place in the Tri-State Area where everything was Jumpin back then.

Nothing I see today can really compare.

Watching the Vietnam "Conflict" unfold, Black Tension, Race Riots! God Dam_ What more could you ask for?

Napalm in the Morning?

Fck no, we had everything. We felt alive! And also about to die.

Tingling every day, almost.

That is what I hear in this music!

Priceless.

Black Unlike Me, And Angry As Hell he was.

Miles Davis From New York City too.

Great Sound, beautiful, good for winding down after a hard night on TV.

Did I mention I prefer black artists in popular music and jazz? I do.

I just don't dig Whitey much.

Well, Jagger is half OK,

But just check out Mick's lips, would you.

Don't sweat it.

I don't think we care about likes, particularly.

If you must show affection, please pat your dog for me.

I like this topic of yours, it provides an opportunity to sometimes share an interesting tune or two that comes to mind after so many years have passed.

If you have run out of likes, you may have some of mine.

Just PM me and I will be happy to place likes wherever you tell me,

Until I too run out.
