Just did one of my sometimes runs to poipet. The road is not too bad excepept for the usual ( about 70 kilometres from the border on the way back ) pot holes starting to appear again that can't be seen when it rains. One place where they are pulling over the mini Mach 2 buses to check who is on board etc. Border was very quiet, 1 hour including sitting down having a coffee, legs aren't what they used to be.

Just for info.

Last month it took a tour(siemriep bkk) and on the way back i got on the wrong mini van at poypet to bkk. This is what happened:

We and 8 other farang were sitting in the van being relaxed because we just had lunch and a short wait and we were on the way from the border to bkk when the driver decided for us to have a lunch break at aranyaprathet. So it meant the driver needed to have lunch so we were relaxed about it and waited 30 minutes. When we were about to go of to bkk the driver got a call that 2 passengers he took(me and my GF) were from a different travel agency and should be taken back to poypet to get on the right van. Ok no problems keep smiling, eventually it was my fault because i just got on the van and the driver didn't complain about it.

Anyway.. I explained the situation to my fellow farangs and they were disappointed but they were cool about it, so we went back to poypet, and i was kicked out of the van. And the van went of to bkk with 2 new passengers(very logistically sound!).

So we had to wait for the next van from theright company to take us to bkk so we had lunch again, street food cars selling moo ping and sticky rice and some fried chicken.

Finally after 1 hour we got on the new and right van from the right company! Again with new happy farangs feeling good because we were finally back on the way to bangkok.

The driver stopped at aranyaprathet(15 minutes into the driver). He announced we should have lunch nota bene at the same restaurant we stopped before with the wrong van.

I am in Thailand i keep smiling and i am already thinking smoking a cigarette at this restaurant where i could become a regular how i am going to explain this story to someone. This time some more vans stopped at the restaurant at aranyaprathet when i was smoking there with the lady boss of my regular restaurant contemplating and chatting in half thai. The doors opened and a lot of farangs come stepping out of the van completely mad and angry and yelling at the driver and anyone. They only thing i told them was: "Why are you angry?"You are in Thailand on a holiday.¨ The owner of the restaurant looked at me and told me: "They will never understand, keep smiling"......

Yep,

Just another day in Paradise.

Imagine having to do the same somewhere else when it's 5 degrees and raining drizzle all the time you're going thru it.

Wonderful thought , eh ?smile.png

I want to check out with all of you who went to Poipet yesterday or today, is there any rain or flood along the way ... because I will be driving to Aranyaprathet tomorrow to do a visa-run. Thanks!

It is so dry and hot along the way while I use the Chachoengsao to go as well use Nakorn Nayok to come back to Bangkok. No flood but have rain during evening.
