There are so many good movies too. Here is a very simple basic article. Also does ANYONE know what the current laws are in Thailand?

I am using the FB link as the newspaper it is in might offend the powers to be on TV.

It is on the FB page of a Health food store ( online) in Thailand. A very good one.

I was only able to find ONE recent article in the Nation about GMO not being permitted here. There were a few older stories saying the GOVT was against it.

Right now also searching for non gmo sources. Info in Thailand is minimal. The recent published study about rats fed gm corn was big push to look for everything non gmo. please share any info you have/find about organic farmers/shops..

Some time ago I read about the punpun village in the north of thailand. A permaculture setup. What is interesting is that one of the members collects heirloom seeds. Not sure about if he sells though, but he is a source of info...

Had a bit of search: The health food thailand website is good for non gmo. Further i found online the lemon farm branches and visited one in my area. Not bad, compared to the small choices we seem to have. Organic food is what they promote.

I also have a "king shop" nearby, where a lot of otop and organic stuff is sold. This is where i usually get my veggies. it seems to be organic, but there is almost no english on/at/with the products.

Since the rules are not known, it is difficult to know what is save and what not. Hope this improves fast!

Re: organic.

I was appalled to read in the BKK Post a couple of weeks ago that when they tested "organic" veggies at well known supermarkets, they were found to contain higher than normal levels of pesticides and chemicals.

I have resigned myself to the fact that there are probably inadequate laws or inadequate enforcement or both in Thailand when it comes to food labeling. This makes me think that whether something is GM or not in Thailand is probably a function of the level of bribes paid or the clout that the producers possess.

GMO is not permitted in Thailand according someone working there. SO <deleted> with there multiple locations here?

The rice farmers have been fighting them for a while!

However anything you buy in a box is for sure made with GMO corn! (corn syrup like in Coca cola for example? Corn flakes..etc) Baby formula too I think. Lovely. HUGE Intiative in California bout it and amazing how much the food conglomerates are spending against it.
