naboo Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Is it possible to put a limit on the number of posts a user can make in a day? I've just read through post after post of nonsense written by one user (I'll leave anonymous) who's got something worthless to say about everything. Perhaps a daily limit would make people think before posting utter drivel. I know I can just put this poster, and others, on ignore, but then I'd lose half the posts in a thread and have no idea what the drivel I wasn't reading wasn't all about. I suggest 20. More than this and the person needs to get out anyway. I see today there are 20 people with 20 or more posts. 1
smokie36 Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 You are really clueless as to how internet forums work aren't you?
naboo Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 They're supposed to be a discussion, provide relevant information, entertain. They need input from members, but when I read 5 posts in a row from the same poster, the discussion element seems to have disappeared, and when the posts are drivel.... It wasn't you I was talking about though. 1

Popular Post Jingthing Posted November 11, 2012 Popular Post Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) I have a different idea from another perspective. MINIMUM of TEN posts daily, unless you can provide a note from your doctor or yoga instructor, and if not, there will be .... CONSEQUENCES. Because if you can't do a measly TEN per day, you are obviously just SLACKING my friend ... Silly idea? You think? Edited November 11, 2012 by Jingthing 5
harrry Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) Lets have a Poll. Should the forum just be for posts asking where to get a pirate Windows Serial or should it be a virant forum? Edited November 11, 2012 by harrry 1
MJCM Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 If TV would limit the Number one can post then a lot of Mods would be out of a job 1
Payboy Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Shouldn't people with bigger keyboards allowed more posts? 2
JetsetBkk Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Shouldn't people with bigger keyboards allowed more posts? ^^ Obviously george has got a big keyboard.
Kan Win Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) but when I read 5 posts in a row from the same poster, the discussion element seems to have disappeared, and when the posts are drivel.... You do have a Report button then please use it and stop giving us all your grief and pain Win Edited November 13, 2012 by Kan Win
MJCM Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Maybe time to introduce a "Don't Like This" button ? 1

Jingthing Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 In my opinion, your subjective evaluation of a post as "drivel" is not something that should be reported. Instead: scroll down.
endure Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 A post has been removed because it contained vulgar language contrary to forum rule 3. Here's a clue. Just because you substitute letters with ampersands or asterisks it doesn't mean that the word is no longer vulgar. We try to keep Thaivisa family friendly.
MJCM Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Maybe time to introduce a "Don't Like This" button ? You do have a Report button if you do not like it, then please use it Agree 100% but isn't that if the post doesn't violate forum rules it will not be removed, if the post is just obnoxious or Offtopic most of them don't get removed, but if they get removed, then only about 60% of all post will remain. So a better option would be the "don't like button" Edit: // Maybe 60% is a to positive Number Edited November 13, 2012 by MJCM

Whoever, should as you put it be if the post is just obnoxious or Offtopic Yes, and Please report it and then let us all see what ThaiVisaDotCom Admins and Mods do about that said post. Win

I wonder where they post? OMG - I've done 20! Jesus, I'm out of here quick! 2

There are plenty of times I've seen moderators leave comments such as "nonsense posts deleted". Drivel should be reported as it clearly doesn't have a place here on Thaivisa.
tinfoilhat Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 oi!! one poster has 80 posts today already and it is not even midday! excessive to say the least.
harrry Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 oi!! one poster has 80 posts today already and it is not even midday! excessive to say the least. And probably none of them original either.........all that poster does is copy things
dantilley Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Assume you're referring to Webfact - there's another poster besides Webfact with 80+ posts already today.
Jingthing Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 How is it your business to define how many is too many daily posts? Comes off as petty gossip to me.
tinfoilhat Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) gossip differs significantly to observation. I made no speculation as to motive or quality, merely pointed out a fact. gossip Casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true. and i was not referring to webfact Edited November 14, 2012 by tinfoilhat
harrry Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 At 11.15 there was only one poster with more than 80 posts. The other had 73.

My OPINION is that status quo of freedom to post as few or as many posts as you like is just peachy. Cheers.
harrry Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 But not wqhen you posted. But don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
Tywais Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Comparing the other poster with webfact's posts is a prime example of quantity over quality. 1
