However, whèn I was there, I'd not be surprised, as I wouldn't be in a dark alley, to get robbed !

So I would be looking around and turn my face to anyone getting near me. If I sat on the beach, I would get up, I'd be looking at them with the eyes of an attacker and not with those of a victim. I'd say "Hello" with some bass in my voice. They'd sure be thinking : 'Well, this guy is prepaired to fight'. And when they do, I'd do my best to harm them and, naturally, get away as quick as possible.

Below is one version another portrayed by PPN TV (Pattaya People News TV) was that he had documented proof in regards theft and was taking the female to task there is also mention of a police report found on Mr. Lindsey and that there were two male assailants.

American man fighting for his life after late night knife attack on Pattaya Beach.

A shocking case of a violent assault now from Soi 7 which has already made the national press here in Thailand. Police Major Sirapop from Pattaya Police Station was called to Pattaya Beach Road at the front of Soi 7 in the early hours of Saturday Morning to investigate an assault on an American tourist. The man, who was rushed to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital, was identified as Mr. Tony Lindsey aged 44 from America. He had sustained multiple stab wounds to his groin, stomach and right arm. He is now in a critical but stable condition in hospital and is now undergoing emergency surgery. Witnesses mentioned seeing the man walk down Soi 7 towards the beachfront with a female, though to be a bar girl. A man approached on a motorbike and both the man and woman begun the vicious attack, which took place on the beach promenade. A Baht Bus driver, Khun Somkuan aged 45 saw the attack and took the badly injured man to hospital. The Thai man and woman fled on their Orange colored Yamaha Mio Motorbike. Police now have two theories regarding the attack. The first relates to the potential of a jealous attack from an ex-boyfriend of the bar girl and the second suggests the couple were working together and attacked the man in order to steal his possessions. The investigation continues.

An American tourist was beaten up and stabbed to death on Beach Road in the early hours of February 11 by a prostitute and her pimp, apparently after declining the woman’s services.

A songtaew driver told Pattaya police that a foreign man had been stabbed at the entrance to Soi 7, only 50 meters away from the police station, and that he had taken the injured visitor to Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

On arrival at the scene of the stabbing officers found a pool of blood at the entrance to Soi 7. A motorcycle taxi driver and tourists who had been drinking in a nearby bar said they had seen a Thai male and female on a pink unlicensed Yamaha Mio motorcycle. They were talking with the foreign man who subsequently ran across the road to the entrance of Soi 7 and that the Thai man ran after him kicking and punching him, and knocking him to the ground. The woman then walked over and stabbed him before the pair made their getaway.

Officers at the hospital found Tony Lindsey of Honolulu undergoing emergency treatment to injuries suffered to the lower abdomen, the right rib cage and right wrist. Doctors tried hard to save him, but due to the massive loss of blood and the severity of the injuries he died.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the woman is a prostitute who plies her trade along Beach Road and that her pimp is always close by. Police believe that the American tourist was propositioned by the woman, but refused and may have insulted her in the process. This resulted in the pimp beating him up before the woman stabbed him.

Police are looking for the pair.

As far as I know this ain't the first time tourists in Pattaya have been attaked.

One the popular "if unknown" schemes is the Bar girl scheme paired up with her b/f.

She gets the stupid falang to take her out usually in a quiet place where already planed the robery will take place.

He may not be entirely the innocent party either.

Maybe he'd seen her already before on 'a promise' and was chalking up a bill 'to be paid'. Hence the argument/attack. This isn't unknown in Pattaya ( see the Indian Viagra story ).

When they eventually track down Bonnie & Clyde on their Yamaha Mio in Nakhon Hideout or wherever they are by now, no doubt they'll be happy to oblige with their side of the story, which now unfortunately will be the only side that the police will hear.

First suspect arrested in stabbing death of US tourist

Police have arrested the first suspect in last week’s stabbing death of 44-year-old Tony Lindsey of Honolulu Hawaii.

Ms. Kritsana Chumkokkraud, 32, from Surat Thani was remanded to custody on February 15, four days after she allegedly murdered the American tourist for refusing her sexual services on Beach Road.

Ms. Kritsana Chumkokkraud from Surat Thani was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Tony Lindsey on February 11.

Lindsey was beaten and stabbed in the early hours of February 11 by a prostitute and her pimp at the entrance to Soi 7, only 50 meters away from the police station. Lindsey was taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Witnesses told police that they saw two suspects, a Thai man and a Thai women, approach Lindsey on a pink Yamaha Mio motorcycle, license plate No. 052, and begin talking to him. Lindsey subsequently ran across the road to the entrance of Soi 7, where the Thai man allegedly caught up with him and began kicking and punching him, knocking him to the ground. The woman then allegedly walked over and stabbed him before the pair made their getaway.

Four days later, on February 15, Pol. Cap. Sompob Khoohawan, deputy investigator at the Pattaya Police Station, was able to track down Ms. Kritsana Chumkokkraud, who is believed to be the woman who stabbed Lindsey.

Police are still searching for the Thai male involved.

Good to see some follow up by the press as previously said.

There must be a whole host of stories where we are `treated` to the initial headlines and then hear no more. We are left not knowing whether justice has been served or a case solved.

At least with this event we can see that one of the alledged killers has been apprehended and hopefully they`ll soon catch the other one.

Geez, ya know, why do we dumb stupid Americans get picked on all the time. The truth of the matter is most Americans know better for the simple reason we live in a very dangerous country to spite what our government tells the rest of the world. I am from around the Philadelphia PA area and thus far this year we have had 22 murders and so many people gunned down in the street I can't count. So, don't put it down as a dumb American it could happen to anyone who is not street smart. I feel much safer living here in Thai.
