I never saw Santa or Man United with Hammer & Sickle flag.

But if Santa comes with the Hammer&Sickle flag, greeting me with comrade and and speaking the usual Marxist stuff than I assume that his is an communist.

Same counts for the red shirts.

Exactly. The old if it walks like a duck.............

I get your point about the red intentions, but judging from their outfit Pitak Siam also reminds me about North korea, cuba and alike.1556396.jpg

If I recall it right, that were the "other" communists who spoke against their former comrades....And decided to help Pitak Siam.....Together with religious groups like Santi Asoke, right wing groups, left wing state unions etc etc.

So one small group within many.

And nothing like set up red village where Democrats aren't allowed or red schools, red universities....to brain wash people to some strange communism with No.1 capitalist Thaksin as leader crazy.gif

and succession based on being a Shinawatra clan member.....(I think Marx would rotate in his grave if he would know)

Back in 2009, the reds viewed the Internal Security Act as bad whereas many in the anti-Thaksin side applauded it. Now, the shoe is on the other foot and the roles have been reversed.

But that isn't surprising, or?

Lets all pray to Buddha that the trigger happy army don't come out again and start the carnage that they did the last time they were deployed in the streets of Bangkok.

The army got trigger happy after several of them were shot, specially the commanding officers.

< Unnecessary disparaging remarks directed at the PM have been removed >

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_66WrU_PQUo

to quote philw's on-topic question to you buchholz

"is it acceptable to you that a retired general calls for a coup against an elected government ??"

yes or no?

is it too difficult for you to answer just in case it comes back to bite?... it's a fair, on-topic question and if you don't want to answer it just say so, because ignoring it just looks worse.

this isn't baiting, this is asking your opinion on something that either you haven't noticed has been asked or you are ignoring, and i'm interested as to the why.

i'll tell you my answer, it's no.

To me it is not a yes/no question as my reply depends on context. That is why I asked him for some specificity of quote. He failed to reply to that request and instead just repeated the question, in and around his repeated inflammatory sniping.

If you wish to be his advocate and provide some substance to his question, I'll check back in the AM.

It is not a yes or no answer, concerning undemocratic measures to overthrow an democratic elected government?

Interesting!

The salient point is not whether it is a "democratically elected government", rather whether it is a government, governing democratically - IMHO.

If Thailand is being changed behind a sham democracy, there can only be problems.

It's worrying that certain posters have stopped the democracy clock at 3/7/2011 - everything after that is democracy, apparently.

ANTI-GOVERNMENT DEMOSTRATION

Abhisit slams gov't handling of rally

The Nation

File photo : Abhisit

BANGKOK: -- Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Thursday that he was confused by the government's extreme reaction to Saturday's planned mass rally in Bangkok.

Abhisit, a former prime minister, said the government was over-portraying the rally at the Royal Plaza as being frightening and full of violence.

"I am very confused by the government's handling of the rally because if the protest is peaceful and without weapons and violence, the government should facilitate it, as the people have a right to demonstrate in a democracy.

The authorities concerned should also ask for cooperation from the protesters and their leader to conduct the rally in line with the law.

But instead they have repeatedly claimed there will be violence and terrible confrontations. Such claims can only lead to unnecessary tensions and conflicts, Abhisit said, adding that he expects to see the government adjust its attitude towards the rally.

The government on Thursday invokes the Internal Security Act in three Bangkok districts for nine days, starting today, in preparation for Saturday's rally.

if ever there was proof needed that abhisit is turning into a joke, it's an article such as this.

i'm sure most informed people will be aware of abhisits comments pre-red rallies.

what an absolute hypocrite.

him and thaksin both, hypocritical.

The facts contradict your claims, however as you denigrate Thaksin too it could be seen as a clever way to lend credence your toothless attack on Abhisit.

'It ain't checkers - it's chess."

i denigrate thaksin how? you do know what 'denigrate' means?

thaksin has been hypocritical, saying things like he has quit politics etc. is that incorrect, have i denigrated him by saying that?

abhisit has been hypocritical, in this example saying things like - claims of expectations of violence etc will only lead to tensions and conflicts..

do you know anything of what abhisit has said in the past pre-red shirt rallies and pre violence?

checkers or chess, get your facts straight before you play at all.

I play comedy in the Thai group of Doo Dokraedone. Tonight we played comedy in Petchabun province.

On the way back there were 10!!! police roadblocks between Petchabun and Saraburi and 2 more between Saraburi and Bangkok. We were stopped 3 times.

These police roadblocks have been installed by the Shinawatra family regime to stop people from joining the rally in Bangkok today.

What has a government done wrong if it has to take these kind of measures?

How sickening it is to see all the red shirt huggers on here who supported the right for the violent red shirt protests and their speeches of hatred and arson all in the name of democracy and the right to protest now hypocritically support the blocking of what has so far been an extremely peaceful demonstration against the government.

Immoral Hypocrites hang your heads in shame.

Living for 30 years in a mostly socialist country and on the border to communist countries, I would say it is standard and complete normal for commies.

Santa wears red is he commie too? or Man United? absurd

so you are seriously suggesting the reds are commies? Thaksin is not a wealthy guy but a closet commie? the reds and PT want a communist state? have you any idea at all???

I had the volume down as the baby was sleeping, it showed protestors removing concrete and barbed wire barricades, then trying to force the police lines back, punches being thrown etc, the police eventually responded with tear gas, looked like the gas was thrown rather than shot, I mit add the gas was used only after violence towards them

Watching the news on channel 7 now,see the scum already attacking the police

why are they scum? is it because they attacking police or because they are in the opposition of who you support?

for me they are scum because:

1/ they are attacking the Police who are there to keep order

2/ they are attacking the democratically elected government

Not scum but more frightened and deluded though there were certainly some violent thugs in the Pitak Siam ranks.Altogether a humiliating defeat for the fascists and their supporters. Two interesting points - firstly the almost complete absence of young people at the rally.Secondly some very clear signals from very influential highly placed sources that they reject the grotesque lie at the centre of Boonlert's platform. Is this the end? No, the yellow shirts and their allies will regroup but it will be difficult for them to make progress..I'm not in the numbers game but the max 30000 total was comically less than the 500000 projected.

And the vast red army of Thai patriots wasn't even mobilised.

So every oppositions in the world are scum because they attack the "democratically elected" government? How about the "legitimated, representatively elected" government? Do they deserved the attack? So funny that logic of someone calling for democracy can sound this much authoritarian.
