Income remitted in the year of earning it has always been assessable, including in 2023. After the announcements, folks could have simply waited until January 2024 and remitted their money officially tax-free as 2023 savings, but no, they just had to do it all in 2023. 🤷♂️ But you have the best visa (LTR) and tax exemption in your specific case, so no harm was done. Congratulations. You will be OK until they introduce worldwide taxation regardless of remittance (if ever). -
