Apple v Samsung: Judge rejects Apple plea for sales ban

A US judge has rejected Apple's plea to ban sales of Samsung's smartphones that violate its patents.

Apple had requested the ban after a jury ruled earlier this year that some Samsung products had infringed Apple's patents.

Samsung was also ordered to pay $1.05bn (£650m) in damages, a ruling the South Korean firm has since challenged.

Koreans are incapable of original thoughts (visit Korea before commenting) and Apple should have realised this when they gave them access to such sensitive information. You reap what you sow in this case Apple.

Nothing to do with it really. It's more about Apple patenting "rectangles" and "leaves" and the idiots actually being dumb enough to grant them patents on them.

I hope Apple burns through its cash mountain fighting losing lawsuits - they are already leaking stories about the iPhlop 5S in a desperate attempt to dissuade people from buying better products from Samsung.

These law suites are crazy, and only benefit the lawyers, I agree with Chicog, it is the ridiculous patenting system that lets companies patent rounded corners and other such obvious features that is at fault here.

The patenting laws are not suitable for software and need a major overhaul. The recent change from first to invent to first to file is a step backwards.

Ensure that the software you patenting must be original and useful to all. To get the approval, the software has to be new and not being in use by other group. The useful aspects of the software are worked out by counting on the benefits it will give to the users. . The process for patent application is not a simple affair, hence you hiring patent attorney for this job is among the preferable thing.
