David48
While I was looking at Aircraft of Russian origin I came across this ... I wonder did it ever see 'service' for it's designed purpose? .
SeaVisionBurma
That appears to be a rusky Sukhoi Su-27... Hard to tell the exact model as the nose / cockpit isn't easily identifiable in this meme But the colour scheme is definitely rusky airforce... Correct. Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-27 which crashed performing at an airshow in Ukraine. Both pilots ejected safely as the plane crashed, but unfortunately there were scores of casualties in the crowd. Worst airshow disaster to date. Chao Lao Beach
What Type is this? PS, I like the angle this pic was taken, kind of a cool pic non the less. Airbus A320 - sporting brand new sharklets Correct, I choose tat pic as it kind of looked a bit like AA-X A330. Air New Zealand is the actual launch customer for them, but several other companies flew them first. The converted other standard A320 orders into them. SeaVisionBurma
Correct, I choose tat pic as it kind of looked a bit like AA-X A330. Excellent choice of photo too - those winglets in combination with that tail livery were doing my head in for ages Took me a while to figure it out. Chao Lao Beach
David, was it being operated by Orient Thai? How about a 300 with aftermarket sharklets ? I am not sure about your comment regarding letters, it could be any special model. I will go with B737-300 or -3XX (XX who knows !) Few -700's have eyebrows The window count is wrong. It is a classic. The exhaust looks "wrong" for a 700 but it is hard to tell. Edited June 20, 2013 by Chao Lao Beach

David48
So, once again, I like to thank all the guys who spotted. So, when you look down as you glide into Swampy from over the Gulf and you see those sparkling lakes* in the setting sun ... SMILE I'm down there looking up, maybe taking your photo ... * BTW ... the Farms not in the photo But both the Farm and Suvarnabhumi are in this shot. I'll be back under the Swampy's approach route in a few months, so, if you have any suggestions on how to do Plane Spotting 2 Please feel free to suggest that either here or through a PM. . Thanks for that ... I did read that post when it was first opened and commented at the time. What did I use ... my borrowed gf's camera ... a Fuji FinePix 600 ... 15x Zoom. Better then my older party camera with 10x Zoom. About a month ago the Olympus SZ-14 with a 24 times zoom came on special and I paid $150 ... very happy with the camera. Light weight, compact and slips into the trouser pocket easily. So, while the imagery can be improved with better technology ... any other suggestions for a better Plane Spotting 2 quiz? .
