For some reason I think the GPS module is buggered in thus MTK chip set. When I get time I'm going into the I-MOBILE service centre at the Mall Rama2 see if they have a fix yet.

I don't have any problem with the GPS functionality. The problem I have is that my IQ6A has no compass functionality - it always points north regardless of the direction that I am standing. When I am finding my way around using a map app, I have to manually turn the phone around (like a paper map) when I make any turns.

I only used it once, I can scan the area for shops and stuff, but I am not sure if it does all the other stuff. It is my first smartphone and I have to see how it works first.

Automatic rotation is a basic feature of map apps. Can you try a compass app like Smart Compass and tell me whether it works?

It says"Magnetic sensor error. NO magnetic sensor, or it is out of order."

It says"Magnetic sensor error. NO magnetic sensor, or it is out of order."

So it seems that the IQ6 does not have a magnetometer by design.

Why would the designers have decided to leave it out, when magnetometers are so cheap these days?
