Hi everyone, Happy New Year...

Was wondering if anyone could possibly help me?

I am looking to replace the in law's flooring as it's warped and falling apart. I need to find a good timber yard/manufacturer in Khorat (Nakornratchasima).

I have searched Google for timber in Khorat (Nakornratchasima) but can not find anything. I have had a look at Homepro and Do Home websites but cannot find what I am looking for.

Not looking for teak flooring but just good reliable Plywood sheet's to replace the old flooring.

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Let's move this over to the DIY forum.

P.S. I was looking for some plywood a few months ago also. Went to all the big stores...nothing. Even some smaller Thai style stores. Then, was driving down the road when I saw a store filled with 4x8 sheets of all sorts of wood/plywood. It was a fairly small store front, but extended back a long way. Only a Thai sign outside and no English spoken. Maybe try to find a Thai builder that knows the local area?

Thank's craigt3365, are you in Thailand?

When you went looking for plywood can you remember where the shop was?

We are just out side of Khorat so any directions or land marks would be of help.

Many thank's,

Sorry...it was here in Pattaya. But my point was the bigger stores didn't have anything at all. Found a small Thai shop and they had it all! Kinda like electronics here. The small Thai shop I use is fantastic. Better than the big stores....

Many of the big lumber yards have different sizes and grades of plywood, but they are not displayed in the front. They are normally stored in the back, or even off site, and you have to ask to be taken to look at it. If you don't speak Thai it might help to take someone that does and understands what you want. I wouldn't reccommend my wife, you'd probably end up in the PVC pipe area.

Thank's craigt3365 & wayned for your prompt reply.

I know there are lot's of timber/lumber places around the place, just need to find someone close to where we live, as we are out side of Khorat (Nong Ki) and don't want to get charged nearly 5,000.00 Baht that we have already been quoted for just for delivery.

Anyone else who can help and lives in or around Khorat, it would be much appreciated.

Many thank's...

Global house has some of the best prices and selections of plywood. Don't know if there is one near you.

Make sure you apply an anti insect solution. Termites think plywood is candy.

Be careful buying plywood at Global. They do carry a few fairly decent grades but also a lot of not even construction grade crap. You might also check out your local builder supply places but timber flooring most likely very expensive if they even carry it.
