If your work permit is dated as per your Multi '0' and you extend the '0' ( border crossing) two or three days before the use by date will the WP office extend the WP with the new 90 days or will they require a new 1 year visa ?

They are not tied, so the WP should be extended for 1 year if it was issued for 1 year.
