WHere can I buy cheap and portable exercise machines in chiang mai? I'm looking something like an airclimber or body slender or stepper machine. Thanks.

You could get yourself a kettlebell and it will give you a much better cardiovascular workout and also muscular endurance.

The Pilgrim's Trail to Wat Palaat then Wat Doi Suthep is an excellent 'stepper' and totally free.

Seriously, if it's cheap, you won't use it for long. I have found that just doing sets of push-ups squats, and a core exercise such as planks, will benefit you both from a strength and a cardio standpoint. Figure out a way to add a pull-up bar and you will really be set.

Very true. I finally have the wife on board with that. Don't know if it would work as a step machine but it would give you a cardio and endurance, A really good and inexpensive jump rope.

Thanks for all your responses. I actually wanted to go to the gym but I don't know if there are female-friendly gyms near our place. I'm specifically looking for an airclimber or body slender machine. I have it in my home country (Philippines) but not quite sure if I can find those in Chiang mai.

If you are able to keep up, the Insanity program is fine, P90x if you have access to dumbells, kettlebells, or bands. However the door setups in this country makes a pull up bar a problem for the P90x program.

My condo comes with an excellent stair machine. Down one flight of fire escape stairs, across the building, down the inside flight of stairs, back across to the fire escape ... 12th floor to the 2nd floor and back up again. Five round trips takes about an hour. All included in the price of the condo.

NO,one big part of filipine is Muslims.......I gues dice must be the raison, (male and femel can not doo it to gethers )

the Dongtawan central is female friendly. I personally would rather see them spending the time on the upkeep of the equipment. But then again I am just being a fussy old codger unable to adjust to the new age.

If you want to buy check out BigC on 108 between Hang Dong and Sanpatong. They've been having a clearout and I noticed prices have been substantially reduced since the New Year. You may be lucky if they haven't sold out.
