You may also try some of the bigger hotels which may have a Patissier, Centara comes to mind, or Sala or may be even Four Seasons.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have also been looking at this thread: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/554559-childrens-birthday-cakes/

My problem is not knowing Samui so well - some of the directions/landmarks referenced are a bit hard to follow if you're not a local laugh.png

I agree if you want a 'special' cake one of the resorts would be best but cost.....thumbsup.gif

I walked past a bakers last week and noticed that they had wedding cakes in the window, so it may be worth a look in there? They were across the road from the Muslim market (Nathon direction) about 1 minute walk - right near some big shop that sell bicycles.

May not be exactly 'custom' made but you could try S & P on the ground floor of Big C. They do have cakes to order and have a fairly large selection in their catalogue, including themed cakes for kid's birthdays - although not sure of their order times. Various flavours of sponge cake with butter cream decoration.

Maybe ask in that little french bakery at the traffic lights by Tesco Lotus. If they don't do it, they might know someone who does.

Many thanks to all of you - followed up a bunch of suggestions and eventually found a french patisserie this morning who is now making some cakes!

Much appreciated !

And where might this "French Patisserie" be found, in case someone else might like to know?

Classic photo - hilarious! I'll use it as the design for the next time I get asked to find a chocolate dinosaur and pink rabbit cake on an island I've never been to before (happens all the time)

Samuidelice - couple of nice French chaps making all of their own cakes/pastries. They also serve decent coffee, and I had some really nice tarts and a great breakfast there.

They have a Facespace/Mybook page (whatever you kids call it these days) - google it, as I can't post links to a commercial site.

Location is on the Chaweng-Cheongmon road, north of Chaweng heading towards Cheongmon road. They are halfway up a hill on the left side heading north, if that helps.

And their waitress is an absolute hottie (in fact both of their staff were nice) tongue.png
