Crime Revenge Killing: Man Arrested in Murder of Former Drug Convict

Police have arrested one of three suspects involved in the cold-blooded murder of Ittipat, alias “Pond Moklan,” a former local gangster recently released from prison on drug charges. The arrest sheds light on a revenge plot rooted in a street altercation involving the victim and the suspect’s nephew. The 27-year-old victim was gunned down in broad daylight while selling bananas outside his home in Tha Sala district, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The brazen killing stunned locals and sparked an intensive investigation by provincial and local police units. On 11 July, officers apprehended Mr. Suthat, also known as “That,” aged 51, who admitted to being part of the hit team. According to his confession, he was the one riding the motorcycle and pointing out the target on the day of the shooting. Mr. Suthat told police that he hired another man, Mr. Amnat, to arrange the actual gunman, identified only as “Por,” who carried out the execution. The motive, he claimed, was personal revenge: months earlier, Pond allegedly kicked over his nephew’s motorbike near Phuyai Pluem junction, causing him to crash and nearly be run over by oncoming traffic. “I wanted to settle the score for my nephew. He could’ve died that day,” Mr. Suthat reportedly told investigators. Despite his arrest, he showed no remorse and stated firmly that he would not apologise to the victim’s family. Police are still hunting the two remaining suspects, the gunman and the intermediary and are expected to press charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder against all involved. Accident Spoon Saves the Day: Rescue Team Frees Boy’s Hand from Pool Pipe

In a display of calm thinking and creativity, a rescue team used an ordinary spoon to free a six-year-old boy whose hand had become stuck in a pool pipe in Racha Thewa sub-district, Bang Phli district. The incident occurred on 11 July at a housing estate swimming pool when the boy’s hand became lodged in a suction pipe approximately 5 inches in diameter. His hand was firmly wedged and initial attempts to remove it were unsuccessful. The Ruamkatanyu Foundation dispatched a specialist rescue team and a medical support vehicle to the scene. After assessing the situation, rescuers determined that the pipe’s dimensions were a near-perfect fit for the child’s hand, making extraction particularly tricky. Enter one of the foundation’s experienced rescue operatives, who came up with an unlikely but effective solution. Using a common household spoon, the rescuer carefully slid it between the boy’s wrist and the inner wall of the pipe to create a gap. This clever manoeuvre allowed the boy’s hand to be gently and safely freed, without damaging the pool’s system or causing injury to the child. Thanks to the team’s skill and calm under pressure, the child was successfully rescued with no need for invasive methods such as cutting the pipe. He was left shaken but unharmed. The foundation has since issued a warning to parents and guardians, urging them to be aware of the potential dangers of swimming pools, especially involving suction pipes or drains. Crime Man Arrested After Evading Attempted Murder Warrant for Over a Decade
Picture courtesy of CIB A fugitive wanted for a brutal attempted murder in 2008 has been apprehended in Surin Province after more than 10 years on the run. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) confirmed the arrest of Mr Thanin in the Sakaekhai subdistrict, Mueang Surin District. The arrest was carried out by officers from the Special Operations Division (BPP), who tracked Mr Thanin to a residential village where he had been living under the radar. He was wanted on charges including attempted premeditated murder and firearms offences under the The Firearms Act. The case dates back to the night of 22 June 2008, when Mr Thanin, then involved in a longstanding feud with a rival group, armed himself with a homemade 12-gauge shotgun and prowled the Kamphaeng Phet–Tha Makhuea road (Village 15, Thepnakhon Subdistrict, Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District) in search of his enemies. Once he located the group, he fired a single close-range shot, at less than 10 metres, towards three individuals. • The first victim was hit in multiple vital areas including the neck, chest, abdomen, and hip. • The second suffered a fractured right arm after being shot in the upper arm. • The third was wounded above the right elbow. Thanks to swift medical attention, all three victims survived. Mr Thanin initially turned himself in and contested the case in court. However, partway through proceedings, he absconded and remained at large for more than a decade. Acting on intelligence, officers located his hideout and successfully carried out the arrest without incident. He has now been handed over to the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Court to face prosecution. The arrest was made under the direction of Pol. Lt. Gen. Jiraphop Bhuridej, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, and coordinated by Pol. Maj. Gen. Teerachart Theerachartthamrong, Commander of the Special Operations Division, and Pol. Col. Siwawong Damrongsatsiri, Superintendent of Subdivision 3. The operation was executed by Pol. Lt. Col.
