Pint not necessary but bloody enjoyable. Thanks for everyone who posted on my first TV thread. Last Bangkok breakfast for a while just consumed in The Queen Victoria. Missus fancied a fry up so we waited till opening time. Best fry up I've had in Thailand. Washing it down with a pint of Calsberg now.

Yeah that looked great. I am gonna give it a try sometime.

Coming from Suk it's on the left far down Soi 11.....Part of Prime 11 apartment building, next door to Aloft hotel. Across from Angel City / Prime 11 is Citadines Hotel, Mulligans Pub and Oskars Bar / Restaurant...........A few metres down from Oskars is Bed Supper Club

The V8 Diner in the Sunrise Plaza, on Suk Road near Soi 10 and next to Times Square Tower, is open 24 hours and serves a decent American style breakfast menu -- omlettes, pancakes, eggs and choice of meat, etc etc.

Chu, at the Exchange Tower next to Asoke BTS, is nice for breakfast choices, especially some stuffed/filled french toast variations.

The coffee shop at the Taipan Hotel on Asoke Road, just a few blocks up from the Asoke/Sukhumvit MRT/BTS stations, also serves a decent half western/half asian breakfast buffet for 235 baht, and I believe they open that early, 6 or 6:30 am until 10 pm or so. Western items include scrambled eggs, cereals, bacon, mini burgers, mini hash brown squares, toast, cut fruit, some breakfast breads, a couple fruit juices, coffee, hot tea, and a few other things, along with a comparable bunch of Asian offerings.

The Bangkok Baking Co. at the Marriott Hotel on Suk Road is a very nice bakery and attached restaurant there, but the regular prices are definitely tourist level.

There's also a 24-hour coffee shop just up Suk Soi 11 about one block distance from the main road on the right hand side of the street. It's part of one of the small hotels there, Business Grand or Grand Business, something like that. It's just past the small 7/11 there and has a small outdoor patio right along the sidewalk (along with the air con area inside), so you can't miss it when walking by. Mostly a Thai food menu, but they do have western breakfast choices and very modest prices.

Overall, though, I'd agree with the issue raised by the OP... There really does seem to be a definite lack of places that open early for western style breakfasts around town. Considering the tourist/cosmopolitan nature of BKK, you'd think the early morning offerings would be somewhat better.

Try Fabb Cafe in Ekamai

http://www.twosave.com/en/restaurants/fabb-cafe-and-bistro/

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2011/08/14/lifestyle/-Mmm-â¦-the-rich-aroma-of-coffee-30162558.html

You have to double check pending hours though...has been a while since I went.., but their Facebook page says breakfast from 7am

https://www.facebook.com/fabb.cafeandbistro

Other options are:

Coffee society in silom (24 hours)

Or Vista Cafe on wireless road (just past plaza Athenee hotel)

http://www.bkkmenu.com/restaurant/Vista-Cafe-Verasu-Wireless-Rd.

Couldn't find an English site, but from above link there's a link to their own website....I couldn't open it but try if it works for you

They do good coffee. Serve cakes, quiches, and a few lunch dishes. Don't think they do eggs style breakfast though....

Open from 7.30am

The Vista Cafe listed above is located as part of the Verasu appliances/house goods shop on Wireless Road, about halfway between the BTS Ploenchit Station on Sukhumvit Road and the U.S. Consulate on Wireless Road.

The Thai website linked above says they have opening hours of 9 am, which is I believe the same opening time as the main Verasu Store the cafe is located inside.

Not exactly an early morning option. But a nice place for light eating.

Thai food is an option???!!!

You are in Thailand, so you can eat Thai food, you won't die!

Some people may actually prefer Falang food. Nothing wrong with that IMHO

The Taipan hotel breakfast is very very average.

Strictly for the extremely hungry.

Edit: Libel laws.

I never said Taipan's buffet breakfast is gourmet... It's not.

But it is convenient, offers inexpensive Western food choices, open early, very close to BTS, and an all you can eat buffet in a clean, air con coffee shop setting.

It does. I can't reply to you unfortunately.

I stayed at the Taipan once. Was well pleased to see some mini burgers on the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately they were a little bit raw! To be fair though, when I spoke to the chef he did offer to cook me some "medium" ones!

Chequers Soi 4 is child friendly especially at that time of day. Decent good and kids can eat a decent breakfasts too.

That's a risk in my opinion....plus who in their right mind would take their kids there at any time of day?

Edit: Decent breakfast though I agree.

I just wrote a review of the Angel City Diner for a different thread here on that restaurant itself... You can read it here.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/631014-angel-city-diners-on-sukhumvit-soi-11/#entry6280186

Talked at length with their staff about their operating hours. Despite the sign in the window that says "24 hours," they're not open 24 hours.

The manager and staff there informed us they're opening at 8 am and closing at 4:30 am (presumably to allow for late night post club closing customers on Suk Soi 11).

The food was quite good, but it's a disappointment that their breakfast menu isn't available any earlier than 8 am.

Also Mini bar royale on soi 23 in the Citadines hotel; they do some really good food and it is open from 630am onwards. I particularly liked the fritatta

I had the chorizo frittata there the other day, and it was quite good.

Their menu says "Brunch, Lunch and Dinner". Their Facebook page says they open at 11 am.

And their website says 6:30 am, but appears to suggest, with a red highlight, that the early times are only for guests of the attached Citadines Hotel, and says their regular opening time for brunch is 10:30 am.

http://www.minibarroyale.com/direction.html

So I'm not sure it's really an early morning option, unless you happen to be staying at the Citadines there.

I believe you may be mistaking the old FAB, which was an upscale, expensive continental and French restaurant. Knew it very well.
