President Hillary Rodham Clinton -- No, It Is Not Too Early

Featured Replies

i have never mentioned her qualifications once, as a matter of fact IMO she is better qualified than Obama ever has been never the less IMO she will chose not to run. Why would she? What has she got to gain? She has been in the system long enough to know better than those who believe that there is a great divide between republicans and democrats. On any given day they are the same beast with a different agenda. Health care was her baby and the great one has already run with that idea, what mission does she have left to fight for? Is her ego so big that she must run simply to say she was the first woman? I would hope she is not that shallow. really what does she have to gain?

Anyway, back to Hilary. Don't you get the impression that the Obama presidency is like a preview of coming attractions were she elected. I'll not judge the people who got fooled by Obama, but you wouldn't double down on that would you? Why not try something more adventurous? It can't be worse.

Christie would be worse. But most of republicans would be worse than Christie. He is indeed electable.

So why would he be worse? He seems to be doing a pretty good job in New Jersey and his constituents look on him pretty favorably. Hilary OTOH has no significant political achievements, ever, unless you count marrying a man who would become president.

He's a republican. They're a horrible party. The party that's all about the war on the poor. The party of racial division. The party of homophobia. The party of teaching fake science to students. The party of climate change denial. The party of making all abortions illegal. The party of starting wasted wars like Iraq. The party of no gun control. The party of prisons for profit. The party of locking up too many young black men. NO republican will ever be acceptable to any reasonable American. For Christie to even get nominated he's going to have to make promises to the republican base. They are lunatics!

Well, New Jersey, an historically Democrat leaning state elected Christie after three Democrat governors in a row. None of whom ever won re-election. Christie looks likely to win re-election in a landslide victory. You're wrong about having to pander to the right wing of the Republican party. Romney did that too long and it was one of the factors that cost him the election. Right wing Republicans are absolutely no different than Black voters or indeed you. They're going to vote for whoever the party selects and vilify whomever the opponent is.

Christie has not got a patch on William Livingston, who clocked up 13 terms in office as Governor of NJ and only failed to complete his 14th term as he died in office...

The lunatics are the ones that think up these delusional talking points. Michael Moore would be proud.

Which of my items does not fit the mainstream platform positions of your party except their racism which they're more guarded about? I think I've hit them all 100 percent accurately.

For starters, how about the Iraq war resolution?

In the House of Representatives, 82 Democratic members voted for the war.

In the Senate, 29 Democratic senators voted for the war...including the Junior Senator from NY, Hillary Rodham Clinton and the then Junior Senator from MA, John Kerry.

The Iraq war would never have happened without the support of the Democrats in the Senate. There were only 49 Republican members of the Senate and one of them voted against the resolution.

You're joking, right? They voted that way based on LIES from the Bush regime.

You're joking, right? They voted that way based on LIES from the Bush regime.

You're joking, right?

They all got the same briefings from the same intelligence officials, including all of those from the UK, France, Germany et al.

They voted that way because they wanted to vote that way.

Spin it any way you want, but the Democratic party was 100% responsible for the Iraq war

And escalating the war in Afghanistan which he promised to end in 2011. He's a war monger.

It's about whatever it takes. LB, I find you hilarious.

The republicans final solution to the sick and uninsured: Let Them Die. Not acceptable. Barbaric actually. Not much different than fascists. In the long run Obamacare will shake out its problems and the USA will at least be CLOSER to what is really needed: UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER.

Here's one of the elements of fascism:

Corporate Power is Protected

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

See if that doesn't sound familiar as you read this article.

You'll have also seen ample evidence of this government/corporate incestuousness from the Wall Street debacle.

There is absolutely zero logic to your claim. Universal Single Payer denotes putting private insurers out of the health care business. That's what's needed. Instead, the Obama administration had the lobbyists of the private health care insurance consortium write the Obamacare legislation. What do you think they did, write themselves out of business or write themselves increased revenues? If you chose the latter you'd be wising up. And more increases to come. And that thing about pre-existing conditions? Well, that's looking a little iffy. It's a monumentally expensive, unfunded clusterfuck that will give substandard healthcare at outrageous prices.

Jerking this back on topic...Benghazi is rearing its ugly head in Congressional hearings scheduled for this week.

Hillary AND Obama will be in the news on this one.

CURL: Watch out for Petraeus in Benghazi scandal
By Joseph Curl Sunday, May 12, 2013
For the record, this is what the CIA “generated”:
“Since April, there have been at least five other attacks against foreign interests in Benghazi by unidentified assailants.” That line was stricken: Everything was fine there — fine fine fine.
And: “We do know that Islamic extremists with ties to Al Qaeda participated in the attack.” That line, too, was deleted by … someone. Instead, this was inserted: “There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.”
Despite protestations by the White House, this scandal is just beginning. And the White House has picked a very bad scapegoat: the Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA follows RFK’s edict: “Don’t get mad, get even.” And when the CIA gets even, it isn’t pretty.

As many of you may recall, General Petraeus was obligated to resign as DCIA after a leak from the White House caused an earlier affair of his to go public. It is possible he may not have a lot of love in his heart for the current administration. Presumably he will be under oath.
It is possible Pickering and Mullen will be answerable under oath to the Benghazi hearing for their report absolving all except four mid-level State Department employees from sin.
