Featured Replies

Chaipitak Chansuthep, President of Senior Football Association held a meeting in Phuket with related officials & soccer organisers and hopes to lure a host of football legends to play in the Senior World Cup in the Andaman region in late April this year. The organising committee is contacting Pele, Roberto Baggio, Rudi Voller, among others, to take part in the competition, which will be held from the 24th to the 30th of April, to celebrate His Majesty the King's 60th anniversary on the Throne. The tournament has also received the backing of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

About 12 teams including possibly Brazil, Australia, Iran, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Japan, China, and the United Arab Emirates & 2 others will compete alongside Thailand in the competition. The format starts with three groups of four teams and games will be played in Phuket, Phang-nga and Krabi.

The opening ceremony will be held in Krabi and the closing ceremony in Phuket. There will also be a clinic for children to learn football skills.

If Voeller is invited than surely Rijkaard should be there as well.
