sidjameson
In Uk for holiday, wondering if I should have much needed eye test here or there. I am pretty sure I just need reading glasses.

jbrain
If you are in the UK, do your eyetest overthere as they will have qualified personal working at the optical shops. What they do here is read the prescription of your current glasses and then add or deduct some to the sphere or cylinder numbers untill you feel comfortable. I had once an eyetest done at one of the major optical shops here and refused the assistant to read my current specs as I wanted to know if she knew her job. She made the computer test then put some goggles on my nose and asked me which line of the lightbox I could read clearly. To be honest, I could hardly see the lightbox itself and informed her about, so she looked at the computer outdraw again and changed the lenses in the frame. After that I had a hard time to see which color of the wall on which the lightbox was mounted, and I knew it was time to start walking.
JohnC
Most opticians in UK will give your free eye test plus the quality and prices are better than Thailand
