The Club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract.

Why does the club feel the need to declare its support of him, on the day he has been talking about leaving to go play elsewhere? Talk about desperate. You'd think he had just suffered some personal tragedy, rather than done some blurting to the press. Kind of sums up the relationship dynamics between him and the club and the club's supporters, since he arrived. "Whatever you want Mister Suarez. Whatever you say Mister Suarez. Three bags full Mister Suarez."

Just out of interest (i'm bored & you come across as a guy in the know with a fanatical interest in Liverpool Football Club) what is the "recent history" you refer to?

The writing is obviously on the wall for Suarez and Liverpool.I see in his statement to his home countries media he is among other things concerned about his image.Don't you love these guys? maybe if he stopped biting players, diving, using racist overtones and sticking his fingers up at opposition fans he might not attract so much attention.Great footballer that he is he has well and truly burnt his bridges and the only consolation for Liverpool is that the money they get will fund at least 2 new players of reasonable quality if they can attract them to a club that may well take 5 years to be a top 4 contender if at all..

So what do u reckon will happen with suerez, i reckon madrid will keep the drip drip drip pressure going, tbh , seems its already started

suarez will hand a transfer request in, l which will be refused, suerez wont come bac for pre season, but the scouce fans will be alright

with that cos of the terrible life he's had in the uk cheesy.gif but madrid will start the bids @ 20 mil, cos suerez WANTS to go there and nowhere

else, liverpool md will throw a coronary laugh.png and clap2.gif and the deal will be done at what u reckon? 30 milrolleyes.gif if they are lucky

Wilshere to Man Utd.

Deflection therapy Smokie?

Mirror reckons Rafa might go for Vermaelen in preference to Skirtl. Any inside track on why the Verminator fell so far from grace this season Chicog? He wants to stay and at the very least surely he's a good squad choice. Other than the odd lack of form since being made captain I would never have thought someone like Ashley Williams would be a proposed replacement. Anyway, in Bould we (now) trust :-)

Suarez, however, does seem set on engineering his departure from Liverpool and is following a well-worn track to do so. Returning to his Uruguay homeland, where he is worshipped and guaranteed a sympathetic hearing, he paints a picture of a poor soul whose life is being made a misery by a British media intent on hounding him, even suggesting the paparazzi make it impossible for him to go into his garden or visit the supermarket.

Nonsense of course.

The trouble Suarez has had since his arrival in England from Ajax has largely been of his own making as he was banned for eight games in December 2011 after being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra and suspended for 10 games - a punishment will stretch into next season if he sticks around - for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield in April.

It may come as a surprise to Suarez that his life might have been a lot quieter, and his media profile a lot lower, had he not been involved in those two incidents, as well as refusing to shake Evra's hand when Liverpool then met United at Old Trafford.

This was his doing, not the media - although his use of these reasons may make selling him a little easier and more palatable for Liverpool. Suarez's words make a decidedly hollow sound.
