What a load of carp fishermen we have here.

The only clubs in England he could go to are City or Chelsea.

No way will Utd sell him to either.

That leaves a move abroad.

Again there are the silly Frog teams....if he went to either of those would be as anti a footballing statement as Beckham moving to the US.

Barcelona don't need.....Bayern are too good for him and Madrid.....well that is his only possible out as far as I see it.

Were I a chairman in Europe I'd be very wary indeed.....Rooney aint too bright and lacks the qualities needed to settle well outside of his own country.

He's going nowhere in short.

United very quiet in transfer market like many others i suppose. Will be interesting to see where Rooney will go and who comes in United camp.

Can't see any transfer rumours on that post 40.gif must be bored laugh.png

Spurs seem to have wrapped up the Baldini deal....now onto players. biggrin.png

Well despite our displeasure with our dealings in the transfer market, in Sherwood and Baldini, if its confirmed, alongside our training center which is up there with the best in the world the future looks very good. Add to that our nextgen youngsters are looking in fine fettle.

Apologies to the locals, just realized its not our thread!wai.gif

I'm not displeased carms....more disillusioned by our apparent lethargy over the last couple of years.

Levy simply has no desire to move from fifth place it seems. :(

Smokes, it's not just a question of having no desire to move from 5th place, there will surely at some stage be other teams eyeing that spot, two from Liverpool no doubt.

One good season won't justify Michu's transfer fee for us I think.

Benteke looks a better bet.

Benteke is a better prospect IMO, The rumours are that Villa have upped his price considerably, so you might have to offer someone else along with Defoe and whatever cash can be put together. What about a nice little blonde German full international, who runs around in circles? wink.png

You've spent to much time on the City thread ups....he is one for the future.

Bentley is going cheep cheep....whistling.gif

I've just read on BBC Sport that City are on the verge of signing Fernandinho (that's not Ferdinand City fans so don't panic) from Shakhtar Donetsk. Damn! The way he dominated the midfield in the Champions League game against us,I would have thought he would have been on our radar. An excellent player who is on a different planet to Barry.

Yeah, apparently seen at the hospital we use for our medicals. Exciting times.

It'll be a new look City midfield for sure. Much more athleticism on display. Exciting indeed !clap2.gif

coffee1.gifYeh exciting indeed. Binning 60m quids worth of players because you came second and then spunking another kings ransom on a new crop of mercenaries

How's the youth policy chaps? City must look a really attractive prospect to young kids looking to come through the youth ranks!laugh.png

If you can't beat 'em, buy 'emwai2.gif

I sense a touch of jealousy coming to the fore there Carms. I'm surprised. On one hand Spurs are giving levvy grief for not spending but your giving us grief for spending. I need that headache emoticon.

And as for the youth policy. Youré joking right?

TBH, i cant see moyes going in and waving the cheque book about, sort of goas against the grain being scottish ect ect giggle.gif

but seriously, i'm sure he'll want to have a really really close look at the squad b4 he makes decisions on replacing or

improving on any of them.

Way. For the right money, i think a deal could be done. Think of Torres. Liverpool's biggest asset, or close to it. Sold to a direct rival. Who got the most out of that deal?

And the thing about City is, they'll pay more than anyone else for him, not just because they can, but because they are so desperate to try and prove they are now the big boys in town, and what better way to do that than to swoop in for a big name from your biggest rivals? Just look at the way they celebrated and made a meal out of the Tevez signing. All of that crap, putting up posters and all, wasn't just because he was a decent player, it was because he was a decent United player.

I don't regret Tevez leaving us and going to City, even though i accept he hasn't done bad there... and i have a suspicion, i won't regret Rooney doing the same stupid thing, should he be allowed and should he chose to.

Interesting comment....but I don't see it happening. Rooney needs a fresh start somewhere imho......Tottenham would be a new challenge....he would fit in great with the bananas! biggrin.png

I can, city real m , barca, Bayer, psg monaco and the chavs r bout the only clubs that wedge out large in transfer money, and of them all i'de say city were the likely t to splash out on rooney , as someone said he'd strugle settling in abroad and with man city all he'd have to do change his sat nav 4 a week or 2 clap2.gif

No mate, I've watched him as much if not more than anyone else and have drawn my own conclusion. I may be right or wrong, but the opinion in mine and only given from what I've seen of him.,,,,,and what I've seen hasn't impressed me.

Time will tell if he's one for the future.smile.png

He's most certainly not one for the present.....not good enough for Spurs anyway.

Joking aside, I do think that Rooney at Spurs would be quite a complimentary fit, and could really get his career - well his footballing one that is - back on track, especially if bananas is still around. Alas... well alas for him and for Spurs... couldn't myself give a fig..

But this is Spurs Catch 22, they can't pay a high price + wages and keep Bale. And somehow I can't see Man U wanting Adebayor or Defoe in part exchange.

With Spurs, not even sure that getting rid of Bale means they can pay a high price and wages.

Maybe that's why they are waiting to see what's left over in the transfer market, as it will be easier to negotiate with players that no one else has come for.
