Farewell, sweet prince

BANGKOK: -- Following a swirling gyre of rumors, the management of Bangkok’s Bed Supperclub has finally made it official: The nightlife mainstay will shutter its doors on August 31.

BK Magazine has the full write up of the announcement, wherein they mention that the delicious (and divisive) nightlife institution has opted for a timely retirement, rather than the costly facelift it would need to remain competitive.

Those unfamiliar with the Soi 11 pioneer will have the next three months to enjoy its lavish nightlife offerings and infamous, bedroom-themed dining room.

I dont know the details of overheads but the place is expensive, perhaps dropping price of drinks would work for them. All the stupid model nights lost them a lot of clients as models do not bring much net vale and if anything discourage others to go. Reality of competition, if you do not perform u die.

New a Russian girl who worked in their "marketing". Not surprised to read this now,

It's hard to establish a top of the market club, and even harder to keep it going. I've seen a few fail. Peter Stringfellow has the trick - maybe someone should ask him to come to Thailand.

A lot of places have come and gone, but this was a mainstay. Whatever you think of its patrons, Bed gave the area credibility and will be missed by the business community of soi 11.

Stringfellows has been a mainstay on Pattaya Soi Yamato for many, many years.

You're having a laugh surely?

I've never darkened its doors in many visits to Soi 11.

The local businesses will not even notice....besides a few extra late night customers.

Hi-so restauants are elsewhere anyway so business as usual for the tourist street.
