Ubon Ratchathani to spend 300 million baht to solve drought problems

The northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani will allocate a budget of 300 million baht to handle drought issues.

Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Governor Suthee Makboon (สุธี มากบุญ) indicated that the 300 million baht budget has been set aside by the Irrigation Department. The officials are now assessing the areas which will be implemented.

As for the flood management issue, the officials from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation have discovered more than 200 areas that need to be treated. Thus, a budget has been requested from the central agency. Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administration Organization is also coordinating with the department to work on drought issues this year.
