Just move to Samui and have been living in a house with my friend but yesterday we found a new House for cheap and better . But ! No furniture . I need a place that sells new beds but not that expensive . Also wardrobes and coffee tables if you know of any place please let me know . The laziness of the staff at big c is starting to take its toll and need to find a better shop :P

I'm new to Samui myself. I can tell of you two places I found so far.

If you head North, go past Big C (should be on your right side in this case) and go through the first light (Don't turn right. You'll be heading towards Big Buddha), you should see a place or two on your right. May be a bit of a drive. Bo Phut Beach side. Could be a far as Mae Nam Beach.

Second on is South of Lamai.

Way down South, (should be on your left side, as if you are heading towards Nathon).

I think it is exactly across the Gun Firing Range.

In the general area of the first waterfall, indoor gun firing range and the outdoor Archery spot.

Sorry no names.

Hope that helps.

Hit me up a PM

Seems we could be neighbors.

I'm in BoPhut, across from The Sundays Spa Resort.

cheers!

There are quite a number of shops, that have all kinds of furniture, really a case of driving around the island and stopping and looking... quality varies, as does price. Most places deliver for free....

Most store names escape me too, but the is Index plus another store fairly close by, in Maenam. The Green House near Tesco Chawang, toward Lamai, they I think have a little better quality.

Mattresses can be like boards, so perhaps need to speed a little more to get something decent! (Home Mart sometimes better quality ones "on sale"....)

Fully agree with the OP's statement...."The laziness of the staff at big c is starting to take its toll and need to find a better shop" ..... Most useless store on Samui, to get any kind of service or even get them to stop chatting with each other ... blink.pngsad.png

Not to be off topic, but doesn't the chatting come with the territory.

Slightly related, I was in Lamai Tesco and asked for a product. They didn't have it.

Didn't want to drive to Chaweng Tesco, so asked the Service staff to call the Tesco there and ask for me if they had on stock what I wanted.

I mean, in most developed countries, this is NOT an unusual customer request, is it?

"No. We can't do that"

Why not?

"Because we can't"

My frustration continues, loudly at this point. Manager comes over.....

"We won't call, but they don't have it."

How do you know if you DON'T CALL?

"Because we can't"

In the end of it, finally went there to find out they HAD IT!

Didn't buy. Too pissed off.

That day, I decided to do all my shopping at Big C.

Jimmy - I think that Greenhouse has shut up shop. (It was closed yesterday and today.)

The shop near Bophut traffic lights is a Winneer - but no sign. They have a huge shop near Namuang 2 - lots of assistants - very attentive, spoke some English.

Furniture shop by the hydroponic place on the ring raod Chaweng. Just before Makro heading south - on the left.

Couple of shops in Maenam.

HomePro do beds - not so cheap though.

So not up on the Greenhouse.... maybe they are having a holiday???? whistling.gif

But just after posting previous response I did head toward Ban Por, and the other two shops opposite each other are Kwan and Koncept ... plus there is Index place closer to Maenam centre.

There's also a place just before the 'Thai Intl Hospital' turning on the left if coming from Maenam & several between Naton & immigration.

You can definitely get cheap double beds - just go to Thai places.

Another cheaper place is the corner of the road to Thai International Hospital - on the ring road near Tesco. This is the road that cuts down to the Lake Road.

Or do what we did when we first moved in - just buy the mattress until you have time for a look around.

Is the huge second hand place on the road between Lamai and Nathon closed? Was great for general stuff like shelf units, nest of tables, dining table with chairs etc. Best to buy a sofa new as they are constructed in such a way as to be almost unusable 18 months after construction even if never actually used.

Strange, when I was buying a laptop a couple of years back, I didn't have any problems when I asked them if they could call Tesco Lamai and check if they had a particular model in stock which was sold out in Tesco Chaweng.

They called and checked and turns out they had and I went over to get it.

ah .... but you speak Thai! ... I think that helps .... tongue.pngbiggrin.png

I had the same problem asking Tesco Lamai to phone Tesco Chawang, a few weeks ago to see if they had an item in stock, they would not... Chawang did have, but it was on the way home anyway! ... although I would have rather have driven Soi One ...... wink.png

Bye the bye...... There is a second hand shop near Soi 2 or 3 in Maenam too, (right side, coming from Bophut) never been in there, so not sure what they have.... may have bed frames,?.... not sure I would want to buy a second hand mattress though! bah.gif

It only works if Tesco Chaweng calls Tesco Lamai.

The telephone line from Lamai to Chaweng should be ready 3rd quarter 2016.

Never had a problem. If they refuse to call then call yourself, find someone in a higher position in the other branch then hand the phone over so they can talk.
