Hello Chiang Maiers...

I've got free tickets to Chiang Mai from Bkk (thanks Air Asia!!!), next week for a visa run.

I was hoping someone might help me out by revealing what the price from the airport to Tapae Gate, via the bus station (to buy tkts to Mae Sai). What would be a decent price by songtaew or tuk tuk?

I'm constantly getting fleeced as I don't know what the prices should be; the amount may be small, but it's the principle and I would feel like a victory if I could land into Chiang Mai and sort out transport without getting ripped off immediately!

I've just checked a map and I think that the Tapae Gate is directly in between the airport and the bus station putting an end to my plan to travel from the airport to Tapae Gate via the bus station.

So, what would be the price from airport to Tapae Gate then later, Tapae Gate to bus station?

Red Songtaew from Thapae Gate to Warorot Market: 15 Baht.

Green Songtaew to Bus Station: 10 Baht.

Red Songtaew from in front of the Airport (on the highway) to Thapae Gate; 20 baht
