The whole world is full of "weirdos"! Some of them even post on internet forums, oh sh*t, I might be one of them!

I know a whole load in Bangkok and Pattaya and a few in Hua Hin but I think everybody knows who they are already.

This thread could be kept open if people don't name or talk directly of known persons, but just of categories.

Oops! Sorry, I just named myself as a possible candidate!

How about this one:

Backpacker lands on KPG in the early 90's, throws away passport, no visa of any sort, biggest trip taken in 20 years was twice to Surat town.
Now in his 60's, walks and talks with the kind of delusional arrogance/ignorance that guarantees no social life, never mind anything remotely resembling friendship.
Through the kindness of a person that should know better, backpacker lands 25,000/month unsupervised gardening job (i.e., 5-hour work week) in small 4-house resort for two years, before overseas owner finally wakes up to the fact that most property income was being diverted into a personal drinking fund.

Others worth mentioning:

Artist who used to live near Laem Som lake, rode a small mini-chopper in the late 90's. The last time I spoke with him he seem very calm and happy as he casually told me that he wanted to die in KPG.

There may still be some hippy recluses living on the mountain just up from Haad Rin. The story from someone I knew (who shared her hut up there with 50 monkeys 2002-2009), was that these recluses would only come down to Haad Rin once a month for supplies. On one occasion a female member fractured her hip, and civilization anxiety stopped her from seeking treatment.

And then there is the real Beach composite story, on which Alex Garland based his novel...

Really not sure what this is leading to or what direction the OP wanted to take.
