Where to buy "Thai looking" furniture in samui ?

Featured Replies

Hi every one, I did moved in a new house last month and would like to buy a few furniture,

a coffe table, a table and 4 chairs for the terrace and a piece of furniture (console?) to put a flat TV and home cinema.

of course I did Google "Samui furniture" before bothering you guys smile.png

I did find a seemingly big shop not far BibC "Chiang Mai art deco" but it's not open must call a phone number, I also found a few web sites but with too expensive furniture, on the other handI found a shop on the main road not far Tesco very cheap, definitely mostly for not very well-off Thai people, so if some one would know a place? wai.gif

PS: For possible mistakes...I do my best but I am a non native english speaker, so?

Have a drive on the ring road between Nathon and Hu Thanon. I seem to remember at least a couple of small Thai furniture shops, that do all the big wooden stuff, and there are also a couple of large mass produced type furniture shops.

Between BigC & Makro near the hydroponic shop , a big retailer sounds like " Young Num " From cheap to expensive furniture.

In Ban Tai (between Mae Nam and Ban Por) there is a place called Line Thai (there is a teak furniture maker across the street). The owner makes various furniture and decorative items out of tree trunks and stumps. A few other things as well sold there. Not Lanna style but probably different than what you had in your last house wai2.gif

Between Nathon and Hua Thanon there is a PTT gas station (actually two, but the one closer to Nathon) and next to it is a clothing place called Samui Hot Club. The owner has had some Indonesian wood furniture for sale.

Thank you Roo, thank you Islandguy, Thank you Amusements,

sorry for my feedbacks a bit late... I had a few drawbacks like I almost did broken my leg by not seing a hole/crack in a drain pipe along the road so my leg fall into it to the knee while walking incredible it was not broken only the skin badly graze by the concrete...then I forgot to answer sad.png (a shame)

OK I bought furniture in 2 different stores, the one between Big C and Macro for a Sofa who looks great and certainly not cheap, for an incredible 11.900 Baht, personally I would not have asked for a better price, but my wife came with me since she says I never negotiate, so we had it for 10.000, free delivery, the same afternoon, they are smiling, they take credit cards they called us 20minutes before the delivery.

A Thai looking coffee table and chest of drawer in Bo Phut in a shop named Meuan Fun Furniture.

(I also went to 2 small stores owned by expats I will not mention the names, prices were almost twice for exactly the same products!)
