Tried a couple times to post but somehow didn't go through, third (or4th)time lucky,,,

Ok we're down with family and friends for a couple days at the beachcomber cha am , Any breakfast recommendations?

Incidentally tried the pies from "the baguette" in cha am today, a big thumbs up

Thanks for the excellent link TS, not too familiar with names from past visits, but normally for evening meals we alternate between the fish resteraunts along beside the fish market and a nice resteraunt up soi bus station away from the beach turning right and a couple hundred yards on the left, normally on other occasions by breakfast time were already on our way back home 3 hours up the road, this time we'll have an extra night so we can sample the brekkie here tomorrow morning

Thanks again

That would be Aroy's restaurant.

You can also try Didine in soi bus station, it's a new restaurant but getting very popular. It's on the right hand side when coming from the beach, some 20 meters inside the soi (above the restaurant is the Golden guesthouse).

Cheers CL, hopefully I'll get the chance to try both of those recommendations, since there's not much in the way of western food up our way I'll get the chance to spoil myself whilst here, don't get me wrong, I enjoy thai food also, but nice for a change once in a while

Thanks

Went on the first day to neeshies, it was a decent breakfast, I had full English and my son had an omelette which tasted great, second day at Sandy resort on the beachfront, I again had the English breakfast, Daughter had the gammon steak breakfast, wife and son had a thai breakfast, again it was ok, but my vote goes to neeshies for service and presentation

Hi jonnyscot,

Don't know if you are still in Cha Am but my suggestion would be to try the Cha Am Pub - they have a good choice of breakfasts and other food. They are located on the street that runs parallel to the beach one block in - if you go up Soi Bus Station away from the sea and turn left at the end they are shortly after on the right.

Neeshys cafe on Narathip Road, almost opposite the viewpoint, is always popular.

There was a place called AJ's on the main beach road past Soi Bus Station but I believe that it has changed name/ownership so not sure what the food is like there now.

There is more about Neeshys here: http://cha-am.thaivisa.com/restaurants-in-cha-am/

the only place to go for BF every off day i eat my brekky there even the missus like it( but getting afterwards a little bit lazy) ....555

yes i agree we are very limited with western food here and unfortunately i dont like thai food.

for BF: neeshes my absolute nr 1

lunch: we had weelay( german restaurant) but now moved near santorini park- great value great quality

dinner: aroy is ok after they got their old chef back he will just get next week his last training " in how to make potato mash"...

also bella pizza is quiet nice for a change

and beside tara mantra is a indian place with nice butter chicken with garlic naan bread( little expensive)

the new place somebody mentioned in soy bus station has a good quality but the portions are quiet small compared to the price and i am not a big eater.

anyway i just refer to affordable places even there are great hotels around with reasonable food.for example hotel de la paix has a hughe BF buffet for around 500 baht and also the pricesfor lunch and dinner are still value even it is not the choice for daily use.

otherwise the noodle soup around soi chokbunmee 1 is to die for...

Has Weelay restaurant moved then? You're talking about the German place located at the top of Soi Bus Station. Very good food in the there and very reasonably priced. Where have they relocated too?

Haha, yes I sure know what the fishermen are like,, I used to be one for 16 years back in UK

I'm back up the road now in Suphan, but certainly a few more recommendations to try for our next visit to the beach, I came home with a dozen and a half steak pies from the baguette, they lasted only 4 days, all the family loved them, I think I'll have to bring 2 or 3 dozen back on my next trip,, anyway thanks to all for all the brekkie recommendations

Our breakfast is 280BHT, for all English products Wiltshire Smoked back Bacon,Walls recipe sausage, champignon button mushrooms (not tinned) fried toms, PG Tips Tea or Nescafe Coffee, small beans in good sauce, eggs, toast, marmalade and butter. Most of our customers happy to pay for quality, both of the food and the environment.smile.png

Sounds good but very expensive, most people are looking for a breakfast in the 150 to 170 bht price range! most people are not interested in paying for the surroundings! you say you are a fishing resort where people are not allowed to bring in there own food and drink this means you can charge what you like, I doubt you will get many takers from outside your resort who are willing to pay that price, but good luck!

Dogpoo, I didnt expect any other kind of response from you than the one you have given.

Oh sorry what kind of response is that then, is it not true that many people are searching for an affordable breakfast? I am probably only saying what many others are thinking, 280bht is expensive, many people live on a budget they are not tourists with money to throw away, you should not post if you are unable to handle different views, no doubt your breakfast is very good but many people will not want to spent that sort of money, you are a fishing resort where you are incorporating overheads in your prices! You are also catering for the tourist who has money to burn!

Neechy's Australian Restaurant best place in Cha-am for a big breakfast. Also good value.

Good place to watch the rugby too.......particularly last Saturday night when I was there to watch England beat the Aussies....sorry, couldn't resist it...
